  • Publication number: 20220280671
Abstract: A facility immune system (FIS) uses time, occupancy, or sensor data to identify or document areas of a facility that need disinfection and that do not need disinfection. The FIS may employ cells respectively in the areas, and the cells may include status indicators for the areas, beacons that interact with mobile devices, and/or sensor systems to sense human activity or other conditions in the areas. The FIS may further control disinfection units to start and end disinfection processes. The FIS may also communicate with facility staff regarding disinfection processes and may provide an administrative interface that enables an administrator to: monitor infection statuses of areas; control, schedule, or provide instructions for disinfection or cleaning processes; and document disinfection information.

  • Publication number: 20220111085
Abstract: A multifunction UV disinfector includes a blower, a UV source, and a housing with a shield mechanism. The shield mechanism provides a closed configuration that directs an air flow created by the blower past the UV source for air disinfection and that shields a surroundings of the disinfector from the UV source. The shield mechanism further provides an open configuration in which the UV light from the UV source is directed out of the disinfector to surfaces for surface disinfection in the surroundings. The disinfector may further employ a filter or an ionizer.

  • Publication number: 20210346542
Abstract: An ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI) room analysis method and system combines the medical knowledge of UVGI disinfection and UVGI photometric analysis to generate a visual report that demonstrates the exposure time needed from an UVGI source at one or more locations within a room or other environment to effectively disinfect a specific microorganism, such as a germ or a virus, from each targeted surface in the room.

  • Publication number: 20210346558
Abstract: A smart ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI) system automatically tracks irradiation times and irradiation locations within an environment being disinfected. The UVGI system can employ or execute a pre-determined disinfection plan that provides a time schedule and geographic routes for one or more mobile UV sources. For example, a replaceable dolly or robot of the UVGI system may be programmed to navigate a space based on the pre-determined disinfection plan.

  • Publication number: 20210071855
Abstract: A timing-cell for controlling an outdoor lamp such as a streetlight includes a time-based switch and a camera module. The time-based switch may be configured to switch the lamp on or off based on daily sunset and sunrise times at a location of the lamp. The camera module may collect image data and transmit the data to a remote location, and the camera module may be adapted as a motion-triggered surveillance camera to capture video in an environment around the lamp. Multiple timing-cells on outdoor lamps may be connected to a network and used in a Smart Map Security System to track people or vehicles moving through an area of the lamps, to inspect facilities in the area, or provide navigation information to vehicles in the area.

  • Publication number: 20200221548
Abstract: A light fixture includes a sensor such as an audio, temperature, or vibration sensor positioned to sense a possible emergency condition in an environment illuminated by a light source that receives electrical power through a power line from a remote power source. A controller in the light fixture receives a sensing result from the sensor and controls brightness from the light source so that the electrical power drawn through the power line varies in a manner that encodes the sensing result. A remote reporting unit connected to the power line can measure the power drawn, decode the sensing result, and report the sensing result through a network such as the Internet to a target such as an emergency response system.

  • Patent number: 9451664
Abstract: An adaptive switch mode LED driver provides an intelligent approach to driving multiple strings of LEDs. The LED driver determines an optimal current level for each LED channel from a limited set of allowed currents. The LDO driver then determines a PWM duty cycle for driving the LEDs in each LED channel to provide precise brightness control over the LED channels. Beneficially, the LED driver minimizes the power dissipation in the LDO circuits driving each LED string, while also ensuring that the currents in each LED string are maintained within a limited range. A sample and hold LDO allows PWM control over extreme duty cycles with very fast dynamic response. Furthermore, fault protection circuitry ensures fault-free startup and operation of the LED driver.
