  • Publication number: 20220095738
Abstract: Ground-engaging components for articles of footwear include an upper-facing surface and a ground-facing surface opposite the upper-facing surface. At least the ground-facing surface may be formed to include a matrix structure, and this matrix structure may include a plurality of open cells (e.g., in a heel region and/or an arch region) and a forefoot region including a plurality of closed forefoot support cells. The ground-engaging component may be engaged with a midsole member (e.g., including a foam midsole element and/or one or more fluid-filled bladders), and this combination may form a sole structure that is engaged with an upper to form an article of footwear.

  • Patent number: 11206890
Abstract: Ground-engaging components (240) for articles of footwear (200) include an upper (202)-facing surface (222S) and a ground-facing surface (248G) opposite the upper (202) facing surface (222S). At least the ground-facing surface (248G) may be formed to include a matrix structure (250), and this matrix structure (250) may include a plurality of open cells (252) (e.g., in a heel region (252H) and/or a midfoot region (252M)) and a forefoot region (252F) including a plurality of closed forefoot support cells (252). The ground-engaging component (240) may be engaged with a midsole member (220) (e.g., including a foam midsole element (222F) and/or one or more fluid-filled bladders (222A, 222F), and this combination may form a sole structure (204) that is engaged with an upper (202) to form an article of footwear (200).

  • Patent number: 9901139
Abstract: Strap type securing systems, e.g., for footwear or other foot-receiving devices, include a strap support with a slot located between its opposite ends. A slot reinforcement may be provided, e.g., adjacent at least some portions of the slot edge, corners, and/or ends, to prevent the strap support from tearing and/or to provide a stable base for receiving strap tensioning force. A strap includes a first portion that extends along an interior surface of the strap support, a second portion that extends through the slot and around the slot reinforcement, and a third portion that extends beyond the slot reinforcement and toward a free end of the strap. The slot and the strap may be structured and oriented such that when the third strap portion is in an unfolded or untwisted condition, a portion of the strap support is sandwiched between the first and third strap portions.
