  • Patent number: 8936278
Abstract: A system for affixing a printed image onto a book cover, comprising a sleeve having a front surface, a back surface and four edges. The sleeve includes a front layer having a transparent window region surrounded by an opaque mask region and a back layer joined to the front layer along at least two of the edges, wherein the back layer is not joined to the front layer along at least one of the edges thereby providing at least one open edge adapted to receive the printed image. Adhesive strips having peelable coverings are affixed onto the back surface of the sleeve along at least two of the edges. The opaque mask region is adapted to cover the edges of the printed image, and the adhesive strips are adapted to affix the sleeve onto the book cover.

    Assignee: Eastman Kodak Company
Inventors: Richard Salter, Mark Anthony Harris, Cheryl Lenhard, William N. Richardson
  • Publication number: 20140265294
Abstract: A bound document including a non-transparent image sheet having at least one printed image formed by printing a digital image file and an overlay sheet bearing a metadata image. The metadata image includes metadata content extracted from metadata associated with the digital image file. The image sheet and the overlay sheet are bound together in respective spine areas, so that the image sheet can be viewed either directly or through the overlay sheet, and wherein the printed image is at least partially visible through the overlay sheet.
    Type: Application

The image sheet and the overlay sheet are bound together in respective spine areas thereof, so that the image sheet can be viewed either directly or through the overlay sheet, the printed image being at least partially visible through the overlay sheet. The overlay image includes at least some image content that is the same as corresponding image content in the printed image, the image sheet and overlay sheet being bound so that the image content in the overlay image is substantially in register with the corresponding image content in the printed image.

  • Patent number: 8501666
Abstract: A thermal, non-silver halide-containing image receiver element includes a support and an aqueous-coated image receiving layer. This receiving layer comprises a water-dispersible polymer having a polyurea or polyurethane backbone and up to 25 weight % of the water-dispersible polymer comprising polysiloxane side chains that are covalently attached to the backbone, each of the side chains having a molecular weight of at least 500. Aqueous dispersions of polyester ionomers and crosslinking agents can also be present.
