  • Publication number: 20050166503
Abstract: An insulation plate has an external peripheral edge portion provided with a continuous circumferential array of serrated teeth. The serrated teeth are adapted to engage a release sheet, disposed upon an underlying environmental membrane of a fully-adhered environmental membrane system covering roof decking substructural components, as the release sheet is effectively moved into engagement with the serrated teeth. In this manner, the release sheet is readily and easily severed along a well-defined locus where—by the release sheet can be easily removed so as to uncover an adhesive layer disposed upon the upper surface portion of the underlying environmental membrane in preparation for securing an overlying environmental membrane atop the underlying environmental membrane in order to form the fully-adhered environmental membrane system.

  • Publication number: 20050158149
Abstract: A new and improved threaded fastener comprises a first, primary thread lead, and a pair of second, auxiliary thread leads alternatively interposed between successive threads of the first, primary thread lead. The threaded fastener further comprises a pointed tip portion for initiating driving insertion of the threaded fastener into an underlying workpiece, and that portion of the dual reinforcing lead, which has previously been interposed between the tip portion and the primary thread lead, or between the first and second successive threads of the first primary thread lead, has been removed.

  • Publication number: 20050084360
Abstract: A self-drilling anchor for use in a friable material comprises a body having an axis, an axial bore adapted to receive a fastener, a proximal end, a drilling end, a proximal portion adjacent the proximal end having threading for engaging the friable material, and a drilling portion adjacent the drilling end, wherein the threading has a root with a root diameter and a crest with a crest diameter, and the anchor has a head at the proximal end having an outer diameter that is smaller than the crest diameter. The anchor head is configured for minimizing visible distortion of the friable material as the anchor is advanced into the friable material.

  • Publication number: 20050076751
Abstract: A threaded screw fastener is provided with a head portion that has integrally incorporated therein dual drive structure whereby the single threaded screw fastener can be rotatably driven by alternative rotary drive socket implements or tools, such as, for example, hexagonally configured or Phillips head configured drive tools or implements, or a combination drive tool. A drive socket implement or tool also has integrally incorporated therein both hexagonally configured drive structure, Phillips head drive structure, and domed contour structure for not only structurally engaging both the hexagonally configured structure and the Phillips head structure integrally incorporated upon the head portion of the threaded screw fastener, but in addition, accommodates the low profile domed structure of the head portion of the threaded screw fastener.

  • Publication number: 20050053444
Abstract: A toggle bolt fastener assembly comprises a tubular toggle housing body within which a coaxially disposed nut member is guidably moved in a translational manner. The nut member includes lug structure for preventing relative rotation or pivotal movement of the nut member with respect to the toggle housing body, and a pair of toggle wing members are pivotally mounted upon the nut member between radially contracted and radially expanded positions. A pair of compression sleeve members are also provided upon the toggle housing body for forcing the toggle wing members to their radially contracted positions, or for permitting the toggle wing members to move to their radially expanded positions depending upon the disposition of the nut member within the toggle housing body.

  • Publication number: 20050005743
Abstract: A novel driver bit for mounting in a sleeve of a rotary driving tool for driving a slotted screw having a hollow cap with a threaded interior cylindrical wall having an inner minor diameter comprises a driver portion at one end thereof and a sleeve engaging portion at the other end thereof, wherein the driver portion includes a generally cylindrical aligning portion with a predetermined diameter of between about 85% and about 99½% of the inner minor diameter and a pair of laterally opposed concave surfaces tapering at a predetermined radius of curvature of between about 50% and about 150% of the inner minor diameter to a generally rectangular flat headed tip for engaging the slot of the screw while the generally cylindrical aligning portion aligns the cap and the screw substantially coaxially with the bit.
