Abstract: A dynamic range expander circuit is arranged to receive and process an input audio signal to provide an expanded output signal having a greater dynamic range than the input signal. The expander circuit may be structured with a rectifying multiplier module to receive an alternating current (AC) portion of the input audio signal and generate a direct current (DC) voltage that is applied to a gain control input of a dynamic amplifier module. The dynamic amplifier module also including an input to receive the input audio signal and an output providing the expanded output audio signal.
