  • Publication number: 20040015137
Abstract: A dental syringe (10) has a needle (11) affixed to a carpule holder (12), which carpule holder (12) is affixed to a power drive unit (13). A harpoon (20) is provided to affix the drive unit to the carpule plunger (32). The harpoon (20) is made of stainless steel or other hard, corrosion resistant, sterilizable, material. Harpoon 20 has a unique barb geometry and hardened, knife-like, edges (21). The syringe (10) may operate to divide the delivery of anesthesia into two phases. According to the method, during the first about 10 seconds of the injection, anesthetic is delivered at an extremely slow rate to maximize patient comfort. The injection rate then automatically increases to the preprogrammed rate associated with the injection type selected.

  • Patent number: 6013976
Abstract: An in-line electron gun includes a main lens having G3 and G4 three aperture electrodes and corresponding chain link (extended aperture) electrodes. The outer apertures in each of the G3 and G4 electrodes are barrel shaped and the middle aperture is elliptical. This construction maximizes the aperture area. The spacings between the G3 and G4 electrodes and their corresponding chain link electrodes are maximized within the existing size constraints of the gun. The combined effect weakens the electric field of the main lens which reduces spherical aberration.

  • Patent number: 5295887
Abstract: A K-G1 spacing apparatus provides for spacing the dispenser cathode of a CRT electron gun a desired distance from an adjacent apertured grid electrode known as "G1." A probe has an outer shaft with a shoulder for registering with the G1 electrode. The probe includes an inner shaft having a tip on one end for contacting the face of the cathode, and at the opposite end, a linear velocity differential transformer (LVDT). When the cathode contacts the tip of the probe, the LVDT produces an electrical signal which is indicated on a calibrated column, and which denotes the location of the cathode face relative to the G1 electrode. When the desired K-G1 spacing has been attained, the cathode is fixed in permanent relationship with the G1 electrode.
