Abstract: A stern drive for a marine vessel having a transom. The stern drive has a drive assembly comprising a drive unit configured to generate a thrust force in water and a powerhead configured to power the drive unit, and a transom bracket assembly configured to support the drive unit outside of the transom and further configured to support the powerhead inside of the transom, wherein the transom bracket assembly is configured to vibrationally isolate the drive unit and powerhead relative to the transom.

Abstract: A marine drive is for propelling a vessel in body of water. The marine drive has a powerhead, a crankcase on the powerhead, and a cooling system that pumps a first flow of cooling water from the body of water through a powerhead cooling conduit for cooling the powerhead and in parallel pumps a second flow of cooling water from the body of water through a crankcase cooler for cooling the crankcase and lubricant in the crankcase. A valve controls the second flow of the cooling water to the crankcase cooler. The valve is normally positioned in a closed position, which inhibits the second flow of cooling water to the crankcase cooler and thereby reduces condensation of water from the lubricant in the crankcase. The valve is moved into an open position upon operation of the powerhead at or above a threshold speed, which permits the second flow of cooling water to the crankcase cooler and thereby cools the lubricant in the crankcase.

Abstract: A marine engine has first and second banks of piston-cylinders, and first and second cooling water passages that convey cooling water in parallel alongside the first and second banks of piston-cylinders, respectively. A cooling water pump pumps the cooling water through the first and second cooling water passages. A first temperature-responsive valve is configured to discharge the cooling water from both of the first and second cooling water passages when the cooling water reaches a first temperature threshold. A second temperature-responsive valve is configured to discharge the cooling water from both of the first and second cooling water passages when the cooling water reaches a second temperature threshold that is greater than the first temperature threshold.

Abstract: An exhaust manifold is for an outboard motor having an internal combustion engine. The exhaust manifold has an exhaust conduit that conveys exhaust gas from the internal combustion, and a cooling jacket on the exhaust conduit. The cooling jacket defines a first cooling water passage that conveys cooling water in a first direction alongside the exhaust conduit, a second cooling water passage that conveys the cooling water from the first cooling water passage in an opposite, second direction alongside the exhaust conduit, and third cooling water passage that is separate from the first and second cooling water passages and conveys spent cooling water from the internal combustion engine to a thermostat.
