Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for receiving media content for display in a shared activity session; receiving additional content corresponding to respective users of one or more other user equipment devices participating in the shared activity session; generating for display, using control circuitry, a display screen including the media content and at least some of the additional content; and, during the shared activity session, automatically adapting the display of the additional content using the control circuitry based on the media content and/or the additional content. For example, images, avatars or video of the users displayed alongside the media content may be adapted using backgrounds or filters reflecting the media content; additional content, such as audio or chat messages, provided by those users; and/or information in their user profiles. The shared activity may be, for example, a group watch session, a videoconference, videocall, audio call, chat session or multi-player game session.

Abstract: Systems and methods are presented for providing dynamic summaries of missed content of content streaming on multiple device. A plurality of groups for a concurrent presentation of a content is identified, and a selection is received by a user via a second device to join a first group of the plurality of groups for the concurrent presentation of the content. Based on a user via the second device joining a group, a determination is made as to whether a user via the second device missed any content from the concurrent presentation of the content for the first group. Based on the detection of missed content, the system generates for the second device one or more summaries of the missed content segments and the missed reactions to the segments based on preferences associated with the user profile. In response to generating the summaries, the summaries are presented via the second device to the user.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for synchronizing playback of media content items. A first media content item is displayed at first user equipment and second user equipment. At least one playback parameter relating to the operation of the first user equipment and/or the second user equipment is determined. A determination is made as to whether the at least one playback parameter is less than a first playback parameter threshold. In response to determining that the at least one playback parameter is less than the first playback parameter threshold, at least one playback characteristic of the first media content item at the first user equipment and/or the second user equipment is adjusted to cause the display of the first media content item at first user equipment and second user equipment to be synchronized.

Abstract: Systems and methods are presented for providing dynamic in-vehicle content. A path of a vehicle is predicted, and an intersection is identified along the predicted path. Based on vehicle status data, a determination is made as to whether the vehicle is decelerating along the predicted path within a threshold distance of the intersection. In response to determining that the vehicle is decelerating along the predicted path within the threshold distance of the intersection, a further determination is made as to whether a geographical location of the intersection is associated with a content item. In response to determining that the geographical location of the intersection is associated with the content item, the content item is presented via an entertainment device of the vehicle.

Images from the at least one camera can be used to determine a portion of the screen to which the user's reaction is directed and/or another user to whom the reaction is directed. The reaction may be conveyed using one or more of an audio effect, a visual effect, haptic effect or text, e.g., to highlight the determined portion or user, display an icon and/or output an audio or video clip. A signal for providing haptic feedback may be transmitted to the user equipment device of the determined user.

Abstract: Systems and methods for encoding a video stream at multiple bit rates is disclosed herein. An encoder divides each frame of a video stream into a plurality of portions and allocates an available number of bits between the plurality of portions based on user preference information. Portions having one or more objects of interest to the viewer determined based on the user preference information are allocated a higher number of available bits while portions of the frames that do not include one or more objects of interest are allocated a minimum number of bits from the available bits.

The fast-forward operation is initiated, and video of the content item is played back at the increased speed while the selected portions of audio of the content item are played back at normal speed.

In this respect, the code generation platform and method include a code generation engine which allows personalized set of electronic redemption codes to be generated based on specific attributes, such as geography, random distribution rules, denominations, role, or function. In this respect, the code generation platform includes a code definition module and an entity definition module. Both work in association with the code generation engine to generate electronic redemption codes based on the rules configured in the code generation engine.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for generating for presentation to a user at least one modified segment corresponding to a physical exercise depicted during presentation of a media asset to a user. The media asset may comprise multiple segments and one or more exercises, where each respective exercise corresponds to one or more segments, and input may be received from one or more sensors during presentation of the media asset, where the input is related to the user. Based on the received input, a determination may be made that an alternate version of an exercise corresponding to at least one particular segment of the multiple segments should be provided instead of a version of the exercise scheduled to be provided. The at least one particular segment may be modified to correspond to the alternate version of the exercise, and the at least one modified particular segment may be generated for presentation.
