  • Patent number: 8651831
Abstract: The present invention comprises a suspension spring and snubber arrangement for reducing transmitted noise from a reciprocating compressor at ?-octave frequency band of 500 Hz and preventing the occurrence of resonance frequency during the reciprocating compressor operation, the arrangement comprising: the suspension spring having a plurality of coils and two opposing open ends; at least one snubber for maintaining the integrity and shape of the suspension spring and for preventing displacement of the suspension spring from their intended position; wherein at least one open end of the suspension spring is loosely fitted over the at least one snubber; and further wherein an internal diameter of the suspension spring is larger than a outer diameter of the snubber so that a gap is defined between the suspension spring and the snubber for minimizing physical contact between the suspension spring and the snubber.

  • Publication number: 20120160610
Abstract: A lubricant supply tube for attachment to a drive shaft of a sealed reciprocating compressor comprising an elongated first portion adapted for extending downwardly from the drive shaft and inclined with respect to a rotational axis of the drive shaft for immersion into a lubricant in a lubricant sump of the compressor, and terminating in a substantially elliptical inlet orifice defining a first plane; and wherein the first plane is inclined with respect to a second plane extending perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the elongated first portion.

  • Patent number: 7927084
Abstract: A compressor is having a tubular vertical shaft, which rotates about its vertical axis, a cylinder block for supporting the tubular vertical shaft, a rotor for driving the rotation of the tubular vertical shaft, and a stator affixed to the cylinder block. Lubricant is channelled from the lower end of the tubular vertical shaft through an inlet of its interior path to the outlet. A magnet is disposed within the interior path to trap ferrous contaminants in the lubricant before the lubricant is distributed to other parts of the compressor.

  • Patent number: 5842420
Abstract: A crankshaft lubrication system is provided for generating increased oil pumping capacity and oil pressure in a sealed compressor for cooling fluids. The lower portion of an integral crankshaft is cut at a slanted angle to increase the inlet area for picking up more oil from a sump or oil reservoir. By varying the angle of cut at the lower portion of an integral crankshaft, one achieves oil pumping rates over a wide range of values while using a standard size crankshaft. This approach not only simplifies the manufacture of lubrication system for sealed compressors, but also lowers the overall production costs of such compressors. While the efficiency of sealed compressors is maintained under the present invention, the noise emissions from such compressors are lowered significantly.
