Abstract: An elliptical trainer has a base, and two crank assemblies, a handle assembly and a linkage assembly mounted on the base. Each crank assembly has two cranks and a transmission wheel. A transmission strip is mounted around the transmission wheels of the crank assemblies to simulate rotations of the crank assemblies. The linkage assembly connects the cranks of the crank assemblies to the handle assembly. When the elliptical trainer is operated, the linkage assembly drives the cranks to alternately rotate upwardly and downwardly. The cranks that rotate downwardly drag the other cranks to rotate upwardly. Therefore, the crank assemblies and the linkage assembly operate smoothly, and consequently, the user is capable of smoothly performing walking or running movements.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a lifting pipe which is used in a manganese nodule mining system including a collection device for collecting deep-sea manganese nodules and a lifting pump and which has a structure in which dimples are formed on the surface of the lifting pipe so as to reduce drag so that the lifting pipe is less influenced by flows of ocean current. The dimpled lifting pipe includes dimples that are formed on the outer circumferential surface of the dimpled lifting pipe, so that turbulent flows are generated, thereby reducing drag caused by ocean currents of a deep sea.

The adjustment mechanism controls the position of the seal member relative to the faceplate such that the seal member is moveable from a first position to a second position and is maintained in the second position during use of the patient interface after being moved to the second position.

Abstract: A color separation system is disclosed, which comprises: a wavelength distribution module, a light guide module and a light splitting module. The wavelength distribution module includes at least one lighting unit and at least one lens unit, in which each lighting unit emits at least two beams of different wavelengths. The plurality of beams is directed to enter the lens unit before it is discharged out of the wavelength distribution module. After that, the plural beams from the wavelength distribution module enters the light guide module. The portion of those beams that are being absorbed, while the portion of those beams being discharged out of the light guide module and then enter the light splitting module. The light splitting module is functioned for splitting the plural beams.

The image capture lens module includes a compound lens with a first lens element and a second lens element molded on both sides of a substrate, and a field stop disposed at an interface between the first lens element and the substrate or at an interface between the second lens element and the substrate, wherein the field stop is a coating layer with a polygonal transparent area.

Abstract: A Chinese herbal aqueous extract having anti-anxiety activities and a method of in vitro evaluating the same are disclosed. Neural cells and/or glial cells are cultured in a medium containing the Chinese herbal aqueous extract, and then subjected to an electric pulse treatment to form epileptic cells. The epileptic cells are applied on evaluation of at least one criterion of anti-anxiety activities of the Chinese herbal aqueous extract.

Abstract: A bicycle light assembly includes a case having a light unit connected to a front end thereof and a solar panel is connected to a top of the case. Multiple batteries are received in the case and electrically connected with the solar panel. A connection unit is connected to an underside of the case and connected to a handlebar of a bicycle. The solar panel absorbs the solar energy which is transferred into electric power to be stored in the batteries such that the batteries have longer life of use.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method of manufacturing semiconductor device having metal gate. First, a substrate is provided. A first conductive type transistor having a first sacrifice gate and a second conductive type transistor having a second sacrifice gate are disposed on the substrate. The first sacrifice gate is removed to form a first trench and then a first metal layer and a first material layer are formed in the first trench. Next, the first metal layer and the first material layer are flattened. The second sacrifice gate is removed to form a second trench and then a second metal layer and a second material layer are formed in the second trench. Lastly, the second metal layer and the second material layer are flattened.

Abstract: A flash memory apparatus with serial interface is disclosed. The flash memory apparatus includes a selector, a core circuit and a programmable data bank. The selector decides whether or not to connect one of a write protect pin and a hold pin to a reset signal line. The core circuit receives a reset signal transmitted by the reset signal line and activates a reset operation accordingly. A selecting data is written into the programmable data bank through a programming method and the programmable data bank outputs the selecting data to serve as a selecting signal.

Abstract: Multi-spectral imaging technique embodiments are presented which involve an active imaging approach that uses wide band illumination of known spectral distributions to obtain multi-spectral reflectance information in the presence of unknown ambient illumination. In general, a reflectance spectral distribution of a captured scene is computed by selecting a number of different illumination spectra and capturing multiple images of the scene. Each of these images is captured when the scene is illuminated by a different one of the selected illumination spectra in addition to the ambient light.

Abstract: An electronic device having a concealed keyboard includes a first housing, a second housing rotatably coupled to the first housing, and a concealment cover coupled to a rear of the first housing. Abstract: The present invention relates to a hot rolling high-pressure fluid descaling method and descaling apparatus. The apparatus comprises at least one descaling unit, a axial direction of a main pipe header of the descaling unit and a rolling stock transportation direction intersect. Each nozzle ejects fluid onto a surface of the rolling stock to form an impact region. The adjacent impact regions are presented in an alternate pattern on the surface of the rolling stock. The center lines of the impact regions along a longitudinal direction are spaced apart by a specific distance, and the center lines are essentially perpendicular to the rolling stock transportation direction. The interference caused by the rebounding of the jet sprays from the adjacent nozzles is reduced. Hence, the descaling quality is improved, that is, the roll-in-scale in the surface of the products is reduced and the surface quality of the products is enhanced.

Abstract: A housing is provided which includes an aluminum or aluminum alloys substrate, an aluminum layer and a corrosion resistant layer formed on the aluminum or aluminum alloys substrate in that order. The corrosion resistant layer is an Al—O—N layer. Then, La ions is implanted in the Al—O—N layer by ion implantation process. The atomic percentages of N and O in the Al—O—N gradient layer gradually increase from the bottom of the layer near the aluminum or aluminum alloys substrate to the top of the layer away from aluminum or aluminum alloys substrate by physical vapor deposition. The housing has a higher corrosion resistance. A method for making the housing is also provided.

Abstract: A strapping machine having a movable working assembly includes comprises a machine body, a chute, and a movable working assembly. This machine body contains a storing space. The chute has an upper chute portion and a lower chute portion. The movable working assembly which is in the storing space includes a horizontal movable portion, a vertical movable portion, a working device, and an operation linkage mechanism. When the vertical movable portion moves to the move-down position, the lower chute portion is separated from the upper chute portion. Then, the movable working assembly can be moved out for easy maintenance. So, it is quick and easy to repair any internal device or part inside the strapping machine. The repairer does not need to stoop or squat down for repairing it. In addition, it saves strength and time to move out the working device or related part.
