Patent number: 8823596Abstract: The present invention pertains to a monopole slot antenna for multiple input and multiple output comprising a substrate. An antenna module is disposed on the first surface of the substrate and includes a first antenna and a second antenna disposed symmetrically with each other. A first inner monopole slot and a first outer monopole slot are disposed on the first antenna. The first inner monopole slot is formed by connecting a first straight section with a plurality of first bended sections. The first outer monopole slot surrounds the outer periphery of the first inner monopole slot. The second antenna is disposed symmetrical to the first antenna. An isolation unit is defined between the first antenna and the second antenna and has a third straight section and a third bended section. Furthermore, two feeding units are defined on the second surface of the substrate.Type: GrantFiled: October 11, 2012Date of Patent: September 2, 2014Assignee: Southern Taiwan University of Science and TechnologyInventors: Wen-Shan Chen, Chi-Huang Lin

Publication number: 20080043183Abstract: A transflective pixel structure in a liquid crystal display panel comprises lower and upper substrates opposing each other and a liquid crystal layer disposed therebetween. The lower substrate comprises a reflective region and an adjacent transmissive region. A protrusion is formed on the surface of the upper substrate facing and corresponding to the low substrate of the reflective region, wherein an edge of the protrusion defines a transition from the reflective region to the transmissive region, wherein such edge extends along a first direction. An alignment film covers the protrusion and the upper substrate, and is rubbed along a second direction parallel to the first direction or extending from the reflective region to the transmissive region to intersect with the first direction. A liquid crystal layer is disposed between the lower and upper substrates.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 15, 2006Publication date: February 21, 2008Inventor: Chi-Huang Lin

Publication number: 20070279561Abstract: Systems for displaying images are provided. A representative system comprises a liquid crystal display (LCD) panel. A liquid crystal display panel includes a first substrate, a second substrate, and a liquid crystal layer therebetween. A first biaxial 1/4? compensation film is interposed between a first polarizer and the first substrate. A second biaxial 1/4? compensation film is interposed between a second polarizer and the second substrate. The first and second biaxial 1/4? compensation films comply with Nz1+Nz2=1, where Nz=(nx?nz)/(nx?ny), nx, ny, nz each represent refraction index of x, y, z axes of the compensation films, and Nz1 and Nz2 each represent biaxial factor of the first and second biaxial 1/4? compensation films.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 5, 2007Publication date: December 6, 2007Inventor: Chi-Huang Lin
