    Abstract: The invention provides a sensing method for a portable device with a touch panel. The touch panel is sequentially divided into a valid input region, a transition region and a peripheral region from a center to a periphery of the touch panel. The sensing method comprises sensing a contact signal generated from a contact motion of an input device on the touch panel. When the initial position of the contact motion is determined to be within one of the valid input region and the transition region according to the contact signal or the initial position of the contact motion is determined to be within the peripheral region and the contact motion moves into the valid input region according to the contact signal, an operation corresponding to the contact motion is executed according to the contact signal.
