    Abstract: A female fastener is adapted to interlock with a male fastener, and is formed as a laminate that includes a carding fiber web layer, and an air-laid fiber web layer underlying the carding fiber web layer. The carding fiber web layer is composed of composite fibers having a length of at least 1.5 cm. The air-laid fiber web layer is composed of composite fibers having a length of not more than 10 mm. The carding fiber web layer has a connecting surface adapted to interlock with the male fastener. Optionally, the laminate can further include at least one additional carding fiber web layer.
