  • Patent number: 7211640
Abstract: The present invention relates to an emulsion type adhesive applicable for over-laminating films, the preparation and the use thereof. The emulsion type adhesive comprises: (a) 60 to 99.5 parts per hundred of monomers of one or more alkyl acrylates containing 4-12 carbon atoms on the alkyl group; (b) 0.5 to 40 parts per hundred of monomers of an alkyl acrylate containing 1-3 carbon atoms in the alkyl group or an alkyl methacrylate containing 1-6 carbon atoms in the alkyl group; (c) 0.1 to 5 parts per hundred of monomers of dicarboxylic acids; (d) 1 to 5 parts per hundred of a reactive surfactant; (e) 0.1 to 15 parts per hundred of an organic acid vinyl ester; and (f) 100 parts per hundred of soft water, (a) and (b) are 100 parts by hundred, while (c), (d), (e) and (f) are calculated based on the total weight of (a)+(b). The products of this invention have excellent properties.

  • Patent number: 7041754
Abstract: The present invention relates to an emulsion type modifier for improving properties of the pressure-sensitive emulsion acrylic adhesives. The emulsion type modifier comprises: (a) 15 to 35 parts per hundred of monomers of a diester of a dicarboxylic acid; (b) 15 to 35 parts per hundred of monomers of vinyl esters; (c) 35 to 65 parts per hundred of monomers of alkyl acrylates; based on the total weight of (a)+(b)+(c), and (d) 0.1 to 2.0 parts per hundred of an acetoacetoxy functional monomer; (e) 0.1 to 2.0 parts per hundred of a nonionic surfactant; and (f) 0.4 to 3.0 parts per hundred of an anionic surfactant. By adding the emulsion type modifier of the present invention, the steel adhesion, polyethylene (PE) adhesion, the loop tack and the holding power of the pressure-sensitive emulsion acrylic adhesives can be improved.

  • Publication number: 20060036024
Abstract: A release coating composition for tapes is provided. The release coating composition includes: (a) 75-95 part per hundred (phr) alkyl (meth)acrylate type monomer; (b) 5-15 phr hydroxy alkyl (meth)acrylate type monomer; (c) 1-5 phr unsaturated carboxylic acid type monomer; (d) 0.1-5.0 phrunsaturated crosslinkng type monomer, and (e) 5-20 phr protective colloid. The sum of the alkyl acrylate type monomer (a), the hydroxy alkyl (meth) acrylate type monomer (b), the unsaturated carboxylic acid type monomer (c), and the unsaturated crosslinkng type monomer (d) amounts to 100 phr. The phrs of the protective colloid (e) are computed based on the sum of the alkyl (meth)acrylate monomer, the hydroxy alkyl acrylate type monomer, the unsaturated carboxylic acid type monomer, and the unsaturated crosslinking type monomer.
