Publication number: 20060254220Abstract: A system for evacuating containers. The system includes a base housing defining a recess having a vacuum inlet port in communication with a vacuum source. An inner door is hinged to the base housing and is sized to cover the recess when in a closed position, and an outer door having a sealing member is hinged to close over the inner door. A vacuum nozzle extends at least partially between the inner and outer doors and is in communication with the recess. The inner and outer doors cooperate to retain a flexible container therebetween and around the nozzle so that the nozzle is positioned for fluid communication with an inside of the container. A removable drip pan is positioned to retain fluids drawn by the nozzle.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 17, 2006Publication date: November 16, 2006Inventors: Justin Patterson, Salvatore Siano, Chi Mak, Heather Jones, Francis Marino, Dave Bossa, Yigal Offir

Publication number: 20050269770Abstract: The present invention makes use of the spherical sectors, semi-spheres, cylindrical or circular sections of a solid object or the surface of an object, and breaks them into components. If no such spherical sectors, semi-spheres, cylindrical or circular sections are available on the object, or the existing ones cannot be used for any reason, one can create some adequate ones under allowable circumstances. The puzzle will come into being when any of its broken down components can be shared with (interchanged with components of) other flat or spherical or circular or cylindrical surfaces. The idea of the present invention is rather simple, however it may be applied in a versatile manner.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 2, 2005Publication date: December 8, 2005Inventor: Chi Mak

Publication number: 20050218030Abstract: The invention basically includes an outer layer made of flexible sheets of synthetic resinous or impervious materials, and/or rigid and/or semi-rigid materials while the wrapping of each article may be held inside the packaging system by flexible linkages. The portion of the wrapping that is not directly wrapping the article should be considered as the flange of the wrapping which will become the “linkage” in the glossary of this invention. The wrapping may be designed with openings for the protruded, fragile or sharp members of the article to avoid damage to these parts. The wrapping may be made as a closed cell and a negative pressure (vacuum) may be applied to securely grasp the article. For those articles that are not suited for tight wrap, certain fluids (e.g., air) may be provided to the inside of the sealed wrapping to counteract the inflation pressure at the outside of the wrapping.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 24, 2005Publication date: October 6, 2005Inventor: Chi Mak

Patent number: 4931715Abstract: A method is described for controlling synchronous motor torque, utilizing a three-phase switch connected in a circuit to the input of a polyphase synchronous motor, and a switch control circuit. The switch control circuit senses the AC voltages input to the synchronous motor and produces signals that open and close the three-phase switch in phase with the input motor voltage, producing positive motor torque during normal operation. If input AC power is lost, the switch control circuit acts to prevent a reverse flow of high current from the motor from entering the power source bus. When input power, after a short time, returns, the switch control circuit acts to close the three-phase switch in such a manner as to permit only real power applied to the synchronous motor and thus positive torque that accelerates the motor speed and quickly restores the motor to synchronism with the input power source.Type: GrantFiled: February 16, 1988Date of Patent: June 5, 1990Assignee: Teledyne InetInventors: Robert H.
