  • Publication number: 20210013809
Abstract: A primary controller applied to a primary side of a power converter includes a current compensation circuit and a compensation voltage generation circuit. The current compensation circuit is used for generating a compensation current to a sensing resistor of the primary side according to a direct voltage and an auxiliary voltage, wherein the auxiliary voltage corresponds to an output voltage of a secondary side of the power converter, and the compensation current changes a peak voltage of the primary side. The compensation voltage generation circuit is used for generating a compensation voltage according to a reference current, a discharge time of the secondary side, and a peak current, wherein the reference current is changed with the output voltage. The compensation current and the reference current are used for making an output current of the secondary side of the power converter not be changed with the output voltage.

  • Patent number: 10193456
Abstract: A PWM controller in a switching mode power supply provides to a power switch a PWM signal determining an ON time and an OFF time. A peak detector detects a voltage peak of a line voltage generated by rectifying an alternating-current input voltage. An OFF-time control unit controls the PWM signal and determines the OFF time in response to a compensation voltage, which is in response to an output voltage of the switching mode power supply. An ON-time control unit controls the PWM signal and determines the ON time in response to the compensation voltage and the voltage peak. The ON-time control unit is configured to make the ON time not less than a minimum ON time, and the minimum ON time is determined in response to the voltage peak.

  • Patent number: 9985529
Abstract: A power supply control method capable of compensating inductance variation of an inductive device in a power supply. The power supply has a power switch controlling a winding current through the inductive device, and converts an input voltage into an output voltage. A sampling time is provided within an ON time of the power switch. The sampling time has a length substantially independent from the ON time, the input voltage, and an inductance of the inductive device. A current-sense signal, a representative of the winding current, is sampled to hold a sample voltage after the sampling time. The power switch is controller in response to the sample voltage so as to make the output voltage comply with an output rating.

  • Patent number: 9723664
Abstract: Control methods and apparatuses providing a holding current for a TRIAC dimmer are disclosed. A control method is suitable for a power controller powered by an operation power source. A high-voltage device in the power controller is connected between the operation power source and an input power source, from which the high-voltage device drains a conduction current. An operation voltage of the operation power source is detected, and, during a startup procedure, the conduction current is forwarded to charge the operation power source. A detected voltage representing an input voltage of the input power source is provided, and if the detected voltage is below a setting voltage, the conduction current is forwarded to a ground line instead of charging the operation power source.
