  • Publication number: 20150237433
Abstract: An audio device (100) provides an on-ear speaker housing (110), an adjustable shaft (120), and a malleable ear loop (130) coupled to the adjustable shaft. The adjustable shaft (120) controls vertical movement of the malleable ear loop (130). The malleable ear loop (130) can be fit about a user's ear with its height being adjusted by the adjustable shaft 120. The adjustable shaft further controls rotation of the on-ear speaker housing (110). The rotation of the on-ear speaker housing (110) allows for user adjustable left ear mounting or right ear mounting with a single device.

  • Patent number: 9083860
Abstract: An event in a public safety (PS) network is recorded by mounting a video recording device for capturing images in a field of view (FOV) on a PS person, by tracking the PS person's point of view (POV) by mounting a motion sensor on the PS person's head for joint movement therewith to generate an output direction control signal indicative of a direction along which the POV is directed; by determining a context of the event in which the PS person is engaged by generating from a context sensor an output context signal indicative of the context of the event; and by automatically controlling operation of the video recording device based on the context and control signals by controlling one of direction of the FOV, angle of the FOV, size of the images, and resolution of the images.

  • Publication number: 20150153763
Abstract: A display (110) providing a tactile display user interface is provided. A display sub-assembly (204) with lens (104) is mounted within an internal frame (218) having a base (214). A perimeter seal (208) is mounted between the lens (104) and the internal frame (218). Mechanical switches (210) are disposed between a back surface of the display and the base (214) of the internal frame (218). The display sub-assembly (204) and lens (104) is moveable relative to the internal frame (218) resulting in actuation of a single mechanical switch in response to the display being pressed. Sealing of the lens (104) to the internal frame (218) being maintained during switch actuation.

  • Patent number: 8958765
Abstract: An improved user interface is provided for a front control panel (104) of a vehicular mobile radio (100) operating in a public safety environment. A multifunction control indicator is formed of a mode indicator light ring (126) co-located about a perimeter of a multifunction control knob (124). The multifunction control knob (124) controls two or more radio functions, such as volume and channel change. The mode indicator light ring (126) generates different lighting configurations in response to the multifunction control knob (124) being pressed to change radio functions. Numerous radio functions can be monitored and controlled via the multifunction control knob (124) and mode indicator light ring (126).

  • Patent number: 8805431
Abstract: A communication system (100) provides automated incident alerts to a radio, automated video recording of the incident, dynamic formation of a talkgroup, and automatic sharing of the incident information amongst members of the talkgroup. The automated alert triggers video recording of incident information from a portable radio, radio accessory or vehicular radio (102). The recorded information of the incident scene is used to dynamically form a talkgroup (102, 104, 106, 108) based on members having the appropriate skills or equipment to handle the particular incident. As members of the talkgroup (104, 106, 108) proceed to the incident scene, each member is able to view real-time video of events occurring at the scene using their portable radios, vehicular radios, or radio accessory. The recordings may also be logged and stored for future analytics.
