    Abstract: An illumination system includes a coherent light source, a first light-combining element, an optical wavelength conversion module, and a first auxiliary light source. The coherent light source emits a coherent light beam. The first light-combining element is disposed on a transmission path of the coherent light beam. The light wavelength conversion module is disposed on a transmission path of the coherent light beam transmitted from the first light-combining element and converts the coherent light beam into a first converted light beam, and reflects the first converted light beam back to the first light-combining element. The first auxiliary light source emits a first auxiliary light beam which is transmitted to the first light-combining element along the transmission path of the coherent light beam. The first light-combining element combines the first auxiliary light beam and the first converted light beam. A projection apparatus is also provided.

Thereby, the present invention uses a reflector of a complex ellipse structure to control the distribution pattern of the light of the light source for complying with the regulations.

    Abstract: The invention provides a ribbonlike light illumination apparatus, comprising a ribbonlike member, a plurality of heat-dissipating fins, and a plurality of light devices. The ribbonlike member has a first surface and a second surface. The heat-dissipating fins are disposed on the first surface. The light devices are demountably mounted on the second surface. The ribbonlike light illumination apparatus of the invention may be installed in an advertisement box. A more uniform light source than conventional fluorescent lamps can be achieved by adjusting the distances between the light devices on the ribbonlike member. Besides, the ribbonlike light illumination apparatus of the invention has properties of longer life and saves more power than conventional fluorescent lamps.

    Abstract: A backlight module for LCD monitors and method of backlighting are disclosed, in which a dome-shaped lens and a LED light source are employed in the backlight module. This method includes the preparation of a LED light source and a dome lens, fitting the dome lens over the light source, attaching the dome lens and the light source under the optical lens sheets, whereby the optical lens sheet closest to the light source is at a vertical distance X therefrom. The hemispherical lens provides light coverage on the optical lens sheet in a peripheral areas with diameters ranging from 2X to 7X, as compared with the small area (diameter X) using the conventional technique. The dome lens is constructed with a light emergent plane on one side, and a light incident plane around hollow cavity in the center.
