  • Publication number: 20070297020
Abstract: An image-sensing module using white LEDs as a light source thereof comprises a printed circuit board, a contact image-sensing element, a rod lens, and a white LED element, wherein the contact image-sensing element is mounted on the printed circuit board, the rod lens provided above the contact image-sensing element, and the white LED element is provided on a side of the rod lens. The white LED element emits a light beam to a document to generate a light reflected from the document to the contact image-sensing element, and then the contact image-sensing element can sense the image of the document via the rod lens.

  • Patent number: 6697052
Abstract: An optical mouse chip with silicon retina structure comprises an image sensor array, an accumulator and a comparing/selecting unit. The image sensor array senses a direction parameter of an image along each axis. The accumulator sums the direction parameters of the image along different axes. The comparing/selecting unit selects a largest one from the sum of direction parameters of the image along different axes to determine a moving direction of the image.

  • Patent number: 6028330
Abstract: A sensor device has a field oxide layer deposited over a substrate. The field oxide layer has opposing sharp edges that define a window. A sensor is formed in the window with a distance between the sensor and each sharp edge that defines the window. The distance forms a gap that reduces the effects of the sharp edges on the sensor, thereby reducing the current leakage from the sensor. In addition, a protective layer may be disposed over the distance and the sharp edges of the field oxide layer to further protect the sharp edges from damage that may be caused from further processing.
