Abstract: A gateway assigns an IP address included in an address list to a client in a local area network (LAN). The gateway inquires whether the assigned IP address is used by other clients in the LAN. The gateway records a media access control (MAC) address of the client and the assigned IP address in a mapping table when the assigned IP address is not used by the other clients in the LAN. The gateway transmits an address resolution protocol (ARP) request packet to the client, and determines whether an ARP response packet is received from the client. The gateway can determine that the client is an attacker if no ARP response packet is received from the client.

Abstract: A gateway device that is in electronic connection with at least one client computer, a first domain name system (DNS) server located in a first communication network, and a second DNS server located in a second communication network separated from the first communication network. When a domain name is transmitted to both the first DNS server and the second DNS server, the first DNS server and the second DNS server respectively resolve the domain name into two groups of internet protocol (IP) addresses, and the gateway device compares the two groups of IP addresses with each other to select one of the two groups of IP addresses that is identified as all IP addresses of which are safe, and allows the client computer to access websites within the first communication network via the selected group of IP addresses to prevent the client computer from phishing attacks.

Abstract: A customer premises equipment (CPE) receives data packets from a network service device via a primary service flow. When the CPE detects flood of packets in the data packets received via the primary service flow, the CPE determines a source Internet protocol (IP) address of the flood of packets. The CPE establishes a new service flow with the network service device. A source IP address of the new service flow is set to the source IP address of the flood of packets, and a transfer speed of the new service flow is less than that of the primary service flow. The CPE transfers the flood of packets from the primary service flow to the new service flow.

Abstract: A transmission wire capable of mounting a spare tube fuse includes a wire and a tube fuse casing disposed on the wire. The tube fuse casing has a chamber to accommodate the spare tube fuse. The present invention provides the tube fuse casing disposed on the wire to store a spare tube fuse. The structure of the present invention is simple, and the spare tube fuse doesn't occupy the space of the plug. It is convenient to use the present invention. Compared to the conventional power plug which is direct connected with a spare tube fuse, the present invention simplifies the configuration of the power plug and reduces the difficulty in assembling the power plug. This is beneficial for mass production.

Abstract: A cupulate light essentially contains a light assembly and a suction assembly spirally installed on the light assembly. A casing disposed on the soft suction member compresses the periphery of the suction member to prevent an air leak out of the periphery thereof, which enhances the suction capability of the product. Such parts reasonably designed as the transparent lampshade, positioning lampshade, and battery container are sequentially installed into the housing. Therefore, the positioning lampshade and the transparent lampshade limited in the housing through the battery case would conduce to a great assembling efficiency. The light and suction assemblies in detachment enhance an efficient replacement by merely changing broken parts thereof, which prevents the waste of entire product and the unnecessary wastefulness to achieve an efficiency of energy saving and environment protecting.

The spool disk pivoted on a shaft within the housing is wound by the communication cable. The spiral spring provides the spool disk with a reeling force to reel in the communication cable. The rotation of the spool disk flexibly controlled by the arresting system decides the protruding length of the communication cable. A swaying member installed on the spool disk is utilized to replace the conventional immovable clip for fixing the communication cable. Whereby, when the entire communication cable is drawn out, the communication cable at a second end of the swaying member presents a larger bent angle. Therefore, the communication cable is subjected to bending with less sharp degree, thence protecting the communication cable, especially for the core, by preventing it from damage.

Abstract: A cable modem in communication with a cable modem termination system (CMTS) scans and tries to lock onto a primary channel, tries to receive a media access control domain description (MDD) message includes subsidiary channels from the CMTS if the primary channel is locked, and tries to lock onto the subsidiary channels in the received MDD message. The cable modem further retains the cable modem to work with the DOCSIS 3.0 standard upon the condition that the primary channel and the subsidiary channels are all locked or retains the cable modem to work with the DOCSIS 2.0 standard upon the condition that the MDD message is not received or the subsidiary channels are not successfully locked.
