  • Publication number: 20070052854
Abstract: A logo processing method includes: within a plurality of video frames sequentially received from a video source, comparing a base frame with at least a portion of the other video frames to generate a mask having at least one candidate region probably corresponding to at least one logo; performing post processing on the mask to correct the candidate region(s); and selecting at least one of the candidate region(s) as logo region(s) for indicating the logo(s).

  • Patent number: 7183437
Abstract: A method for preparing three types of benzidine compounds in a specific ratio, the method uses two types of diphenylamine compounds and one type of biphenyldihalide compound in a specific ratio as reactants to mix with an organic solvent and an additive to synthesize benzidine compounds in one step. The synthesized three types of benzidine compounds specially perform in a designated mixturing ratio having excellent photoelectric characteristics for a charge transporting layer in an organic photo-conductive drum.

  • Publication number: 20060288291
Abstract: A video segmentation method for segmenting video clips according to content of the video clips is disclosed. The method comprises scanning pixels of video frames with a first horizontal scan line to determine if colors of the pixels fall within a predetermined color range; creating a color map utilizing pixels located on the first horizontal scan line from a plurality of successive video frames; labeling the current video segment as a candidate video segment if the color map indicates the presence of a stable region of pixels falling within the predetermined color range for a predetermined number of successive video frames; and performing histogram color comparisons on the stable regions for detecting shot transitions. Audio signals of the video clips may also be analyzed to further verify the candidate video segments.

  • Publication number: 20060152634
Abstract: Method disclosed in the present invention is proposed to detect and eliminate flash scene in digital video. Particularly, averaging shot distribution of digital video is employed as knowledge to develop the algorithm of the present invention, and which is incorporated and used to identify three general types of shot distribution for flash scene event. In the present invention, the luminance difference between two consecutive frames is instead of actually analyzing the visual content so as to reduce the computational complexity. As a result, positions of flash frames can be exactly detected from the video signal for many applications. The method comprises the steps: frames are extracted from a video sequence inputted. A luminance difference by two adjoining frames is calculated. Then a histogram is made to record the differences, and a threshold is determined accordingly. Then the flash scene is detected and categorized into three types, and finally being eliminated.

  • Publication number: 20050195334
Abstract: A method and related circuit for detecting black frames, which are inserted between normal programs and commercial spots in a broadcasting video signal. For a frame in the video signal, representative pixels are selected as reference pixels according to their positions in the frame, and whether the frame is black can be determined efficiently according to statistical properties of these reference pixels. For example, pixels aligned in a diagonal of a frame can be selected as reference pixels to determine if the frame is black. Also, the invention applies to frequency domain video signals. Blocks are selected as reference blocks according to their position in a frame, and whether the frame is black is determined according to low-frequency components of reference blocks.
