  • Publication number: 20080068549
Abstract: Fringe field switching mode liquid crystal display (FFS LCD) devices are disclosed. A first substrate is disposed opposing a second substrate with a gap therebetween. A liquid crystal layer is interposed between the first and the second substrate. A gate line and data lines are formed on the first substrate in a matrix configuration and defining pixel areas. A counter electrode is disposed on each pixel area of the first substrate. A pixel electrode is disposed above the counter electrode with an insulating layer therebetween. The pixel electrode includes a plurality of parallel electrodes. Each electrode includes a first segment, a second segment, and a third segment, wherein the first segment has an included angle ? from the horizontal direction, the second segment has an included angle ? from the horizontal direction, and the first segment has an included angle ? from the horizontal direction.

  • Publication number: 20070278491
Abstract: A liquid crystal display is provided. A liquid crystal display includes a first substrate having color filters therewith; a second substrate having plural first signal lines and plural second signal lines thereon; plural first openings located at intersections of said first signal lines and plural of second signal lines; and plural supports located at said plural first openings and between said first substrate and said second substrate, and separating said first substrate from said second substrate.

  • Publication number: 20070216845
Abstract: A liquid crystal display panel with a fanlike shaped conducting line design that provides uniform impedance is disclosed. The liquid crystal display panel comprises a plurality of transistors, a plurality of control ICs and a plurality of conducting lines. Each of the conducting lines comprises a respective width and a respective length. The width and length of the conducting lines increases towards the medial portion of the fanlike shape. The arrangement of the length and width makes the resistance and capacitance of the conducting lines uniform. As a result, the display panel achieves higher optical performance and improved quality.

  • Patent number: 6842200
Abstract: A liquid crystal panel comprises an active matrix substrate, an opposing substrate facing the active matrix substrate, and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the active matrix substrate and the opposing substrate. On the active matrix substrate, a plurality of parallel signal lines and a plurality of parallel scanning lines are arranged for forming a matrix of pixels called an active area. A plurality of pads are formed in outer-lead bonding areas located on the periphery of the active area, and are used for mounting driving devices. Each of the OLB areas is separately connected to one of fan-out areas including a plurality of leads. Each compensation capacitor with a predetermined capacitance is connected to each lead so as to minimize variation of RC delay effect between all leads.
