    Abstract: A driving apparatus of a display panel and an operation method are provided. The driving apparatus includes a command interface circuit, a video interface circuit, a built-in self test (BIST) circuit, a multiplex circuit and a driving circuit. The command interface circuit receives a test command including a grayscale parameter. The video interface circuit receives video frame data. The BIST circuit generates test frame data representing a test pattern according to the test command and sets a grayscale of the test pattern according to the grayscale parameter included in the test command. The multiplex circuit selects to output the test frame data in a test mode and selects to output the video frame data in a normal operation mode. The driving circuit drives the display panel to display an image according to the test frame data or the video frame data output from an output terminal of the multiplex circuit.

    Abstract: A method for improving an image quality of a liquid crystal display (LCD) device includes receiving an input image, generating a plurality of consecutive pictures of a predefined period number according to the input image, wherein a gray level of the input image is greater than a gray level of the plurality of contiguous pictures, setting a number of pixels required for adding a value among the plurality of contiguous pictures for every display element according to a least significant bits (LSB) of a pixel of the input image, and enforcing the number of add-value pixels of a positive polarity closes the number of add-value pixels of a negative polarity according to the number of add-value pixels in each of the plurality of consecutive pictures and the polarity of the corresponding display element.

    Abstract: A gate driver of a dual-gate display is provided. The gate driver includes a shift register and an odd/even (O/E) switching unit. The shift register receives a clock signal and a start pulse (STV). The shift register outputs a plurality of gate line driving signals after being activated by the STV. Every adjacent two of the gate line driving signals form a pair of gate signals indicated as a first signal and a second signal. The O/E switching unit receives the gate line driving signals and a switching control signal. The switching control signal has a first state and a second state. The first state activates the pair of gate signals in a first sequence from the first signal to the second signal, and the second state activates the pair of gate signals in a second sequence from the second signal to the first signal.

In each period of the substrate voltage signal, the status transition of the raising and falling edges is based on the high level status of the reference signal, and the transition timings of the raising edges and the falling edges are advanced or delayed based on a reference value of the high level status of the reference signal.
