  • Patent number: 9467829
Abstract: When receiving an SMS message which has been handled as a long message, a receiving entity is configured to access one or multiple key contents in the content of the SMS message and provide a corresponding content summary of the SMS message. The source address of the SMS message and the content summary may simultaneously be displayed. When receiving a command to browse the SMS message, the receiving entity is configured to display the content of the SMS message according to the one or multiple key contents. Therefore, the user of the receiving entity can identify the abstract of the SMS message efficiency and the readability of the SMS message can be improved.

  • Patent number: 9432837
Abstract: During a booting procedure when reading the contact features of a smartcard, the body part of a master elementary file is accessed. According to the validity and link of each data, the body part of a Type 1 elementary file, a Type 2 elementary file or a Type 3 elementary file is selectively accessed. The efficiency of the booting procedure can be improved by avoiding unnecessarily accessing the body part of unused data in other types of elementary files.

  • Patent number: 9363362
Abstract: A mobile device is network-personalized according to an MCC, an MNC and an SPN of a smartcard issued by a specific service provider. During the booting process, the mobile device may directly access an IMSI elementary file and an SPN elementary file of a currently inserted smartcard and thus determine whether the currently inserted smartcard is issued by the specific service provider. Therefore, even if the smartcards issued by two different service providers have the same MCC and MNC in its IMSI elementary file due to cooperation, the present method of performing network personalization is able to determine whether these smartcards can be used to provide full function on the mobile device.

  • Patent number: 9313308
Abstract: During the booting process of a mobile device inserted with a smartcard, it is determined whether a link indicated by an index administration phone book elementary file is correct according to data validity of the index administration phone book elementary file and an abbreviated dialing number elementary file. When a valid pointer indicated by index administration phone book elementary file corresponds to invalid data of the index administration phone book elementary file, the index administration phone book elementary file is updated to indicate an invalid pointer, thereby preventing the mobile device from displaying blank contact information.

  • Publication number: 20150312750
Abstract: During a booting procedure, a user equipment is configured to update the language option of a CBS user interface according to a language indication elementary file of a smartcard. After receiving a CBM, the CBM is displayed or filtered via the CBS user interface according to the language option. When receiving a user command associated with updating the language option, the language option and the language indication elementary file are updated according to the user command.

  • Patent number: 9100808
Abstract: In a communication system, an SMS message can be transmitted from a sending entity to a receiving entity. The sending entity is configured to encode the SMS message by inserting both the sender number and the sender text description of the sending entity in the TP-OA field of the SMS message. After transmission, the receiving entity is configured decode the TP-OA field of the encoded SMS message and simultaneously display the sender number and the sender description as the title of the SMS message on a screen.

  • Publication number: 20150148023
Abstract: A system and a method for managing an alarm clock are disclosed. The method includes the follow steps: activating a periodic alarm clock setting; receiving an activation command of the periodic alarm clock setting; deactivating the periodic alarm clock setting according to the activation command and displaying a reactivation setting interface; receiving a reactivation time of the periodic alarm clock setting inputted by a user from the reactivation setting interface; and reactivating the periodic alarm clock setting automatically at the reactivation time of the periodic alarm clock setting.

  • Publication number: 20150119090
Abstract: When a receiving entity is unable to receive an incoming SMS message due to full memory, the sender address of the incoming SMS message is fetched from the transport protocol data units received from an SMS center. The receiving entity is then configured to display a notification message which indicates the sender address and the rejection reason of the incoming SMS message. Based on the sender address, the user may then estimate the importance of the incoming SMS message and give a corresponding instruction.

  • Publication number: 20150111557
Abstract: When equipped with a smartcard which stores a plurality of contact numbers, a mobile device may send a communication request to a network by dialing a specific contact number. When unable to establish a connection with the specific number, the network is configured to send an error code to the mobile device. If the mobile device determines that the specific contact number is no longer valid based on the error code, all data related to the specific contact number is deleted in the smartcard and stored in the memory of the mobile device.

  • Publication number: 20150105058
Abstract: When SIM/USIM personalizing a user equipment, a unique ICCID, which is not protected by PIN, of a specific smartcard is used as feature data. Even in a PIN-locked status, the user equipment may directly access an integrated circuit card identity elementary file of a currently inserted smartcard and then determine whether the currently inserted smartcard is the specific smartcard without waiting for the PIN-unlock process to complete. Therefore, the present method of performing SIM/USIM personalization does not influence the efficiency of the booting process.
