    Abstract: A device for detecting an edge of a transparent sheet of a laminated transparent and translucent sheet assembly, is provided which includes a light source for producing a shadow of the edge of the transparent sheet on a translucent sheet, a photosensor operative to produce an electrical output which varies depending upon variation of intensity of light supplied thereto, and a lens for producing a clear image of the shadow on the photosensor. A picture processing unit determines the position of the edge of the transparent sheet on the basis of a variation of the output of the photosensor.

    Abstract: There is disclosed a device for cutting a superfluous edge portion of an interlayer of a laminated glass. The device comprises an ultrasonic cutter including an ultrasonic generator and a cutter knife, the cutter knife being ultrasonically vibrated to cut the superfluous edge portion thereby to produce a cut part of the same; a structure for moving the ultrasonic cutter along a given way extending around the periphery of the laminated glass; and a dag holder moved together with the ultrasonic cutter and slidably carrying thereon the cut part of the superfluous edge portion to promote flowing of the cut part from the remainder of the superfluous edge portion toward a given position.

    Abstract: Two detecting means move in the direction perpendicular to that of the advancement of a glass ribbon while the glass ribbon is carried on a roller conveyor and stop upon detecting its side edges. Then the distance between the two detecting means, which corresponds to the width of the glass ribbon, is indicated in a form of an electrical signal.
