Abstract: Provided is an air bag apparatus in which it is possible to facilitate control of the internal pressure of an air bag main body at the time of full inflation and deployment of the air bag main body to appropriately secure the exhaust performance at the time of the full inflation and deployment of the air bag main body. Air bag apparatus includes bag-shaped air bag main body having vent hole, and lid body disposed outside air bag main body. Air bag apparatus further includes connecting member which is disposed in the interior of air bag main body and has one end joined to air bag main body, and the other end joined to lid body. Length from one end to the other end of connecting member is set such that clearance is formed between vent hole and lid body when air bag main body is fully inflated and deployed.

Abstract: An airbag is disclosed which allows for stable and easy adjustment of the degree of opening of a discharge hole with a simple configuration. The airbag includes: a variable discharge vent hole in at least one of paired lateral surfaces facing each other; and a cover at a position of an outer portion of an airbag main body to be placed over the variable vent hole. In addition, a first end of a tether is connected to the cover corresponding to a first one of the paired lateral surfaces. A second end of the tether is connected in the airbag main body to a second one of the paired lateral surfaces that is positioned opposite to the first one of the paired lateral surfaces including the variable vent hole corresponding to the lid.

Abstract: A cast-in insertion member out of which a core inserted during casting of cast portion can easily be pulled, and production method thereof are provided. Inside covering portion is formed to cover the interior of one end of pipe. During the casting, inside covering portion is interposed between the inner surface of the one end of pipe and the outer surface of the tip of the core put into pipe, so that a bite between pipe and the core by contraction of pipe due to molding shrinkage of cast portion can be prevented. Inside covering portion includes tapered surface on the side of recess, which gradually widens from the one end to the other end of pipe. After molding of cast portion, tapered surface making contact with the outer surface of the tip of the core gradually widens in the direction opposite to that of putting the core into pipe.

Abstract: An airbag device for motor vehicle, includes: an inflator arranged in an instrument panel in front of a front passenger seat and is capable of ejecting gas; a first airbag connected to the inflator at a base end side thereof and has a gas inflow hole through which gas can be flowed, the first airbag being for the front passenger seat; and a second airbag arranged on the first airbag at a side face portion close to a center in the vehicle width direction, the second airbag being adapted to communicate with the first airbag through first and second communication portions. The first communication portion is arranged proximal to the inflator than the second communication portion arranged proximal to the occupant side end. The first communication portion and the second airbag are communicated via a communication passageway, and the second communication portion and the second airbag are communicated directly.

Abstract: A vent hole communicating with an air chamber is opened in an airbag main body. A cover is disposed outside the air chamber of the airbag main body with respect to the vent hole. One end of the tether is connected to the cover via the vent hole, and the other end is connected to the airbag main body. If the tether is not pulled by the airbag main body, the vent hole is reliably opened to discharge gas to the outside. If the tether is pulled by the deployed airbag main body, the cover is partially drawn into the vent hole so that the cover is ensured to be in tight contact with the edge of the vent hole so as to reliably seal the vent hole.

Abstract: An air bag includes: a gas introduction opening portion; and a bag-shaped air bag main body portion; the air bag main body portion in the folded state including a first accumulated portion folded in a state where at least a portion of the first accumulated portion is turned over on a counter-occupant side toward the gas introduction opening, and a second accumulated portion which includes a face confronting portion confronting a face of the occupant in a normal position, and which is folded in a state where the face confronting portion is superimposed on the first accumulated portion so that the inflation gas introduced from the gas introduction opening directly flows into the face confronting portion.
