    Abstract: The present invention relates to a metal oxide nano-composite magnetic material, fabrication method, and method for linkage, enrichment, and isolation of phosphorylated species. The metal oxide nano-composite magnetic material comprises the magnetic iron oxide nanoparticle, a silica layer immobilized onto the magnetic iron oxide nanoparticle and a metal oxide layer coated onto the silica layer. The magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles can be used for absorbing microwave radiation to accelerate the enrichment and linkage for phosphorylated species onto the metal oxide nano-composite magnetic material. Furthermore, the magnetic property of magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles leads to isolation of the metal oxide nano-composite magnetic material-target species conjugates by simply employing an external magnetic field.

    Abstract: A box assembly has a bottom board respectively connected to a pair of first side boards and a pair of second side boards. The bottom board has a foldable slot at its four edges, and each two facing edges are respectively connected to the pair of first side boards and the pair of second side boards. The pair of first side boards respectively has an assembling end at its two outer sides, and the inner edge of the assembling end has a plurality of engaging protrusions. The pair of second side boards respectively has an engaging end at its two outer sides, the engaging end has an engaging slot, and the inner edge of the engaging end has a plurality of assembling apertures connecting to the engaging slot. The assembling end and the engaging end of the first side boards and the second side boards can be alternated, such that the first side boards respectively has the engaging end, and the second side boards respectively has the assembling end.

    Abstract: The invention provides a simple, rapid and cost-effective metal oxide-assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry (MOALDI MS) without the addition of light-absorbing organic-matrix, comprising the use of (a) an inorganic metal oxide with light absorbing capability as an assisting material to render desorption/ionization of samples in laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry and (b) a citric acid buffer as the proton source for enhancing the ionization efficiency for analytes. Metal oxide assisting materials is not only restricted to the uses of films. Metal oxide nanoparticles are also suitable to be used as the assisting materials. Low matrix background, stable surface feature, homogeneous sample deposition, and wide detectable mass range are the merits of MOALDI MS.
