  • Publication number: 20100014710
Abstract: A method for tracking positions of human extremities is disclosed. A left image of a first extremity portion is retrieved using a first picturing device and an outline candidate position of the first extremity portion is obtained according to feature information of the left image. A right image of the first extremity portion is retrieved using a second picturing device and a depth candidate position of the first extremity portion is obtained according to depth information of the right image. Geometry relations between the outline candidate position and the depth candidate position and a second extremity portion of a second extremity position are calculated to determine whether a current extremity position of the first extremity portion is required to be updated.

  • Publication number: 20090119030
Abstract: A force feedback and interactive system is provided in the present invention, wherein the force feedback and interactive system utilizes a mechanism for detecting weight or center of gravity and reacted force from an operator on a multi-axis motion platform, and a main controller which is a kernel of data processing and motion simulating of the multi-axis motion platform. Besides having complete mathematical simulation model for calculating reaction force variation according to the received operating command, force status and weight of the operator and having algorithm for simulating the motion of multi-axis motion platform so as to calculate the motion and instantaneous position of the multi-axis motion platform in space, the system can also provide function of force feedback for enhancing the virtual reality while being applied in various Human-Machine Interaction simulating field.

  • Publication number: 20090006281
Abstract: A computerized data equidistant-mapping method and a computer system using the same are provided. The computerized data equidistant-mapping method is used for mapping M sets of K-dimensional original data into a D-dimensional space in a manner of equidistance. The computerized data equidistant-mapping method includes the following steps. M sets of D-dimensional mapping data each corresponding to each original data respectively and sequentially are generated. An initial mapping data and an initial original data are chosen arbitrarily, wherein the initial mapping data corresponds to the initial original data. The mapping distance between each mapping data and the initial mapping data is computed. The original distance between each original data and the initial original data is computed. Each mapping data is amended according to each mapping distance and each original distance for enabling each mapping data and each original data to have equidistant-mapping relationship gradually.

  • Publication number: 20080119236
Abstract: A method and a system of using mobile communication apparatus to translate image text are provided, which are applicable to a translation service of transmitting an image text captured by a front-end mobile communication device via a wireless communication network to a back-end server for identification and translation, and feeding back the result to the mobile communication device. The method includes obtaining a digital image containing texts from a mobile communication device; transmitting the digital image to a back-end server via a wireless communication network to be identified as a corresponding text; translating the corresponding text into a description content in the same or different languages; and feeding back the description content to the mobile communication device to be displayed.
