    Abstract: Disclosed are apparatus and methods for a silicon photonic (SiPh) structure comprising the integration of an electrical integrated circuit (EIC); a photonic integrated circuit (PIC) disposed on top of the EIC; two or more polymer waveguides (PWGs) disposed on top of the PIC and formed by layers of cladding polymer and core polymer; and an integration fan-out redistribution (InFO RDL) layer disposed on top of the two or more PWGs. The operation of PWGs is based on the refractive indexes of the cladding and core polymers. Inter-layer optical signals coupling is provided by edge-coupling, reflective prisms and grating coupling. A wafer-level system implements a SiPh structure die and provides inter-die signal optical interconnections among the PWGs.

    Abstract: A gapless ferrite structure for circulator or isolator includes a first base having a first flange and a first limit slot surrounded by the first flange, a second base having a second flange and a second limit slot surrounded by the second flange, a ferrite with two ends accommodated in the first limit slot and the second limit slot respectively, two limit magnets installed on the first base and the second base respectively and configured to be corresponsive to the ferrite to generate an attraction force on the ferrite, and two sealing units configured between an end of the ferrite and the first limit slot and between the other end of the ferrite and the second limit slot respectively. In this way, a gapless structure can be formed on a signal transmission path in a circulator or isolator.

    Abstract: An optical circuit includes one or more input waveguides, a plurality of output waveguides, and a reflector structure. At least a portion of the reflector structure forms an interface with the one or more input waveguides. The portion of the reflector structure has a smaller refractive index than the one or more input waveguides. An electrical circuit is electrically coupled to the optical circuit. The electrical circuit generates and sends different electrical signals to the reflector structure. In response to the reflector structure receiving the different electrical signals, a carrier concentration level at or near the interface or a temperature at or near the interface changes, such that incident radiation received from the one or more input waveguides is tunably reflected by the reflector structure into a targeted output waveguide of the plurality of output waveguides.

    Abstract: An antenna assembly includes a patch antenna, a metal layer, and a feed-in signal layer. The metal layer is disposed on a side of the patch antenna and includes a first slot and a second slot. The feed-in signal layer is disposed on a side of the metal layer opposite the second antenna and includes a transmitting port, a receiving port, a hybrid coupler, and two microstrips. The transmitting port and the receiving port are connected to the hybrid coupler, and the two microstrips are extended in the direction away from the hybrid coupler. Projections of two ends of the two microstrips onto the metal layer are overlapped with the first slot and the second slot. An antenna array is also mentioned.

    Abstract: A method for navigation of a movable platform is provided. The method includes the steps. First, a plurality of reflection devices is placed to mark a range. A coordinate location and a direction of the movable platform are received by a positioning system, At least one laser to measure relative positions and distances between the reflection devices and the movable platform are emitted by a laser range finder, respectively. Absolute locations of the reflection devices and the range are calculated by a processor according to the coordinate location and the direction of the movable platform, the relative positions and the distances between the reflection devices and the movable platform. The reflection devices are scanned and tracked by the processor, and the coordinate location and the direction of the movable platform and the absolute locations are calibrated by the processor to control the movable platform to move in the range.
