Abstract: A method for migrating a virtual machine running in a first physical machine to avoid overloading of the first physical machine and an input/output (I/O) unit determines respective statuses of the first physical machine and the first input/output (I/O) unit configured as a transmission interface of the virtual machine. The virtual machine is migrated from the first physical machine to a second physical machine when the first physical machine is deemed overloaded. The transmission interface of the virtual machine is migrated from the first I/O unit to a second I/O unit when the first I/O unit is deemed overloaded.

Abstract: In multimedia equipment and method for operation of a multimedia situation, a trigger event and a current time that an input device awakens multimedia equipment are detected. A matching situation is searched from a situation database according to the trigger event and the current time that are detected. A thumbnail of the matching situation from the situation database is acquired and displayed. A user operation of the displayed thumbnail of the matching situation is detected. A showing state of an application corresponding to the matching situation from the situation database is acquired. The application is shown according to the acquired showing state when the displayed thumbnail is selected. The disclosure can switch a situation automatically and start a corresponding application on condition that the multimedia equipment is awakened.

The calculating module checks whether current backup time arrives, and calculates memory space of partitions belonging to the highest backup sequence group when the current backup time arrives. The backup module checks whether residual space in a first flash is enough according to the calculated memory space, and backs up the partitions belonging to the highest backup sequence group originally in a second flash to the first flash if the residual space in the first flash is enough. A method of the mainboard backing up of a baseboard management controller is also provided, which provides backing up for the baseboard management controller.

Abstract: A method for reducing interference between WiMAX signals and WiFi signals includes: obtaining a work frequency of the WiMAX module via the processor; comparing the work frequency of the WiMAX module with a preset frequency via the processor; and selecting a work frequency for the WiFi module according to the comparison result via the processor to make a difference between the work frequency of the WiFi module and the work frequency of the WiMAX module as greater as possible to reduce the interference between the WiFi module and the WiMAX module. An electronic device is also provided.

When the power on event of the server of a corresponding server case is monitored, the baffle control unit controls the baffle of the corresponding server case to open the air inlet of the corresponding server case. When the power off event of the server of the corresponding server case is monitored, the baffle control unit controls the baffle of the corresponding server case to close the air inlet of the corresponding server case.

Abstract: An access gateway establishes a link with at least one terminal device via a user interface module, and obtains a cloud storage service list from a backend server. The access gateway selects one cloud storage service from the cloud storage service list, and authenticates one cloud storage service provider server corresponding to the selected cloud storage service to obtain a backend uniform resource locator (URL). The access gateway downloads backend software from the one cloud storage service provider server according to the backend URL, and installs the backend software. The access gateway provides cloud storage service from the one cloud storage service provider server to the at least one terminal device according to the installed backend software.

Abstract: A cloud storage access device includes a data fetching unit, a user management unit, and a data link unit. The data fetching unit collects private data of each user of the cloud storage access device. The user management unit creates a home directory corresponding to each user in the cloud storage access device. The data link unit connects each of the home directories to both the cloud and a local storage of a network terminal, such that the cloud storage access device communicates with both the cloud and the local storage. Each user of the cloud storage access device stores data to the cloud or the local storage and accesses data stored in the cloud or the local storage through the home directory corresponding to the user.

Abstract: A method for displaying data objects based on social networks is executed by a cloud access system. The method comprises receiving view preference settings from a user of the cloud access system. The view preferences settings comprise group names and time periods. The method further comprises querying a friend list according to the group and polling data objects shared by the user and the friends according to the time period. Each of the shared data objects is renamed to its uploaded time, re-sorted according to the timeline and stored in memory. The polling cycle is determined according to degrees of activities of the user and the friends on social networking sites.

Abstract: A system for transmitting messages using a redundancy mechanism includes an active main processing unit (MPU) and a standby MPU. The active MPU is used to receive a request message sent from an end-user device and send the request message to a router connected with the active MPU. When the active MPU cannot work normally, the standby MPU is activated as a new active MPU. The new active MPU transmits the request message instead of the active MPU.

Abstract: A network device includes a plurality of line cards and a management card. Each line card has an individual identifier. The management card includes a cache, a searching module, and a communication module. The cache stores the individual identifier, a working mode, and an associated identifier for each of the plurality of line cards. The searching module is configured for receiving the individual identifier from at least one of the line cards and searching the cache to acquire a corresponding working mode and the associated identifier to the individual identifier. The communication module is configured for sending the corresponding working mode and the associated identifier to the at least one line card with the individual identifier to set a working mode for the at least one line card with the individual identifier. A method for setting working modes of line cards is also provided.

Abstract: A network device (10) adapted for detecting a type of an adaptor card (100) plugged into the network device. The adaptor card includes card data. The network device includes a line card (200) and a management card (300). The line card detects whether the adaptor card is plugged into the network device, and queries about the type of the adaptor card when the adaptor card is plugged in. The management card reads the card data from the adaptor card, determines the type of the adaptor card based on the card data, and communicates the type of the adaptor card to the line card in response to the query of the line card. An adaptor card type detection method is also provided.
