Abstract: An extended memory card capable of coupling to a reduced size memory card and having an electrical connection to a card reader is disclosed. The extended memory card comprises a first flash memory and a first client controller, where the card reader accesses to the first flash memory by controlling the operation of the first client controller. The reduced size memory card further comprises a second flash memory and a second client controller, where a host controller accesses to the second flash memory by controlling the operation of the second client controller. The extended memory card coupled to the reduced size memory card has the same size as an MMC card. The reduced size memory card has the same size as the RS-MMC card.

Abstract: The present invention provides a flash memory integrated circuit with multi-selected modes. The flash memory integrated circuit comprises a base, a plurality of flash memory dies, and a transformation device. The plurality of flash memory dies and the transformation device are disposed on the base. And the multi-selected modes can be switched by inputting control signals to the transformation device for controlling the flash memory dies to perform such a transformation procedure.

Abstract: The present invention provides a multi-functional integrated circuit card module with a mixed interface, which comprises a controller, multiple first pins and second pins coupled to the controller, and a non-volatile memory whose read/write function is controlled by the controller. The controller works at a first mode after detecting the first pins complying with first interface characteristics while the second pins not complying with second interface characteristics; and the controller works at the first mode plus a second mode after detecting the first pins complying with the first interface characteristics and the second complying with the second interface characteristics.

Abstract: A USB storage device having an I/O apparatus for decreasing the quantity of USB ports to be coupled to is provided. In one embodiment, the USB storage device includes a USB connector adapted to couple to a USB port of a portable electronic device, a memory unit adapted to be a storage device, at least one I/O apparatus adapts to provide at least one I/O function, a bridge, and a USB hub coupled to the USB connector and the memory unit respectively and further coupled to the at least one I/O apparatus via the bridge such that the USB hub adapts to communicate with the memory unit and the at least one I/O apparatus respectively. The bridge adapted to either convert the USB signal from the USB hub into an I/O signal or convert at least one I/O signal into the USB signal.
