    Abstract: A latch device comprises a housing unit, a disk unit, an electromagnetic lock unit, a pressing lock unit, and a detecting unit. The housing unit includes a housing, which has a pressing hole and an insertion slot. The disk unit includes a supporting rod positioned through the housing, and two vertical disks pivotally arranged to the supporting rod. The outer perimeter of the two disks is placed with a hook, a first engaging portion and a second engaging portion. The electromagnetic lock unit includes two electromagnetic mechanisms, two retractable bars connected to the two electromagnetic mechanisms, and two electromagnetic latches respectively connected to the two retractable bars. The pressing lock unit includes a pushbutton, and a button latch connected to the pushbutton. The detecting unit includes two detectors, which are disposed inside the housing for detecting the position of the two electromagnetic latches.

First, at least one image simulation model is established according to the mask pattern and a process reference set used for fabricating the device based on the mask pattern. Next, a plurality of scattering bar reference sets is applied to the image simulation model so as to generate a plurality of simulation images, respectively. Further, a portion of the simulation images are selected to be a plurality of candidate layouts according to a screening criterion. Next, one of the candidate layouts is determined to be a pattern layout according to a selection rule, and the scattering bar reference set corresponding to the pattern layout is determined to be a scattering bar rule of the mask pattern.

    Abstract: A method and device for controlling the illumination of a backlight of an LCD includes a light sensor that generates an ambient light intensity value, a processor that interprets the measured ambient light intensity value, a light source that is controlled by the processor, and an LCD device that is illuminated by the light source. The processor first calculates a light source intensity value based on a user-adjustable desired apparent light source brightness value and the measured ambient light intensity value. The processor then triggers the light source to emit light at a time-averaged intensity, utilizing frequency variation or a varying duty cycle, which corresponds to the calculated light source intensity value, such that the LCD device is illuminated. In this way, the information displayed on the LCD is clearly visible to a user in any ambient lighting condition.
