  • Patent number: 7988120
Abstract: A foldable stand for supporting a machine can be folded or extended between a collapsed position, an extended supporting position, and a hand carrying position. The foldable stand includes a platform formed by two bearing bars that define a bearing surface for supporting a machine. Two support units are pivotally connected to the bearing bars and can be pivoted, and selectively locked, between a collapsed position, an extended supporting position, and a hand carrying position. The selective locking is achieved by the selective engagement of positioning devices with locating grooves formed on the foldable stand.

  • Patent number: 7352667
Abstract: An optical disc drive includes a servo system and a system behavior detection module. The system behavior detection module includes a controller and a signal feeding unit coupled to the controller and the servo system. The controller is operable in a detection mode and in a normal operation mode. In the detection mode, the controller enables the signal feeding unit so as to introduce an exciting signal into the servo system. In the normal operation mode, the controller disables the signal feeding unit so as to inhibit introduction of the exciting signal into the servo system.

  • Publication number: 20050226293
Abstract: An automatic laser power control apparatus for an optical recording system includes a drive voltage generator and a control unit. The drive voltage generator amplifies a selected control voltage or target value for output. When the control voltage is selected by the drive voltage generator, the apparatus works in a closed-loop control mode. When a recording or reading process is interrupted, the control unit generates a calculated variable gain value based on operation parameters, such as the drive voltage, the control voltage, the variable gain value and the target value, prior to interruption. At the end of interruption, the control unit enables the drive voltage generator to generate the requisite drive voltage according to the recording speed and link point condition, thereby generating the voltage or control state that approximates the closed-loop condition so that there is almost zero transient response in the system.

  • Publication number: 20050063286
Abstract: A control module for an automatic gain control device of an optical disc playback apparatus includes a constant-gain setting member and a switch member. The playback apparatus includes an optical pickup head for reading an optical disc. The constant-gain setting member provides a constant gain signal. The switch member connects the constant-gain setting member to the automatic gain control device so as to set the automatic gain control device at a predetermined gain when the optical pickup head reads a non-recorded area of the optical disc or performs a track jump operation.
