    Abstract: A method for detecting filter status is applicable to an electronic device including a filter, and the method includes the following steps. In response to activation of the electronic device, timing is started and an accumulated operating time is obtained. In response to the accumulated operating time being greater than or equal to a time threshold value, a level of dirtiness of the filter is detected through an optical sensing element. The time threshold value is adjusted according to the level of dirtiness of the filter. A notification related to the filter is provided according to the level of dirtiness of the filter.
