  • Patent number: 7000843
Abstract: A luminescent card device has a luminescent card and an actuator. The luminescent card has a plastic layer, a luminescent layer, a memory device and multiple printed layers. The actuator is mounted on a corner of the luminescent card and selectively transforms direct current into alternating current that drives a capacitor embedded in the luminescent layer to excite the luminescent layer and make it emit light. Only a few specific manufacturers make the luminescent layer so if criminals try to counterfeit any luminescent card device, law enforcement agents are able to trace the criminals through the luminescent layer's manufacturers. The issuing banks and card companies do not lose money from any counterfeit cards.

  • Patent number: 6957774
Abstract: A luminescent card and casing assembly has a luminescent card and a casing. The luminescent card has a plastic layer, a luminescent layer and a memory device. The luminescent card is inserted into the casing, the casing provides electricity to the luminescent card, and the luminescent card emits light. Only a few specific manufacturers make the luminescent layer so if criminals try to counterfeit any luminescent card device, law enforcement agents are able to trace the criminals through the luminescent layer manufacturers. The issuing banks and card companies do not lose money from any counterfeit cards.

  • Publication number: 20050122706
Abstract: An illuminated computer keyboard has a transparent layer, a resilient member, multiple printed circuit boards, an illuminant board and a casing to hold the foregoing elements. The transparent layer has multiple keys. The resilient member is mounted under the transparent layer, is translucent and has multiple resilient protrusions corresponding respectively to the keys in the transparent layer to press the keys against the transparent layer. The multiple printed circuit boards are mounted under the resilient member, are translucent and connect the keys electrically to the computer. The illuminant board is mounted under the multiple printed circuit boards and is powered by a power supply. When the illuminant member is illuminating and light passes through the transparent layer, the keyboard can be clearly seen and used in the dark.

  • Publication number: 20040125946
Abstract: A programmable light source device for mobile phone displays is provided, including an electroluminance panel, and a driving integrated circuit (IC). The electroluminance provides luminance light source to the mobile phone display and is capable for light color change. The driving IC sends out signals to the electroluminance panel in order to control its activation and color change, including change timing and patterns. The driving IC also receives input from the user through the keypad to set the desired illumination effect and color change.
