Patent number: 10788867Abstract: A handle for a computer component, such as a motherboard, of an information handling system may have an adjustable size. By allowing the handle to change size, the advantages of a large handle, such as easy handling and reduced damage to nearby components, are gained, and the advantages of a small handle, such as reduced size and improved airflow, are gained. The handle may be affixed to a computer component by any fastener such as a screw, pin, clip, or plastic connector. The handle may change size by increasing in height from a collapsed position to an expanded position, or change size by decreasing in height from an expanded position to a collapsed position. The handle may be moved into the expanded position for handling during assembly or repairs of a computer system, and then moved in to the collapsed position for normal operation of the computer system.Type: GrantFiled: April 7, 2016Date of Patent: September 29, 2020Assignee: Dell Products L.P.Inventors: Kuang Hsi Lin, Ling Chen Chang, Chih Min Su

Patent number: 10215439Abstract: An information handling system includes first processing resources, e.g., GPGPU expansion cards, in a first thermal region of the system and second processing resources, e.g., one or more CPUs, in a second thermal region. The system may be configured to perform operations including determining a loading profile of the system. The loading profile indicates power consumption information for each of the thermal regions. One or more thermal fans may be configured in accordance with a fan configuration associated with the loading profile. The fan configuration defines a fan speed and airflow direction for one or more thermal fans and determines, in accordance with the fan speed and airflow direction of each thermal fan, a rotational angle of one or more rotatable airflow guides. The rotational angle of a rotatable airflow guide influences thermal fan airflow provided to one or more of the thermal regions.Type: GrantFiled: June 9, 2017Date of Patent: February 26, 2019Assignee: Dell Products L.P.Inventors: Chun-Cheng Lin, Yenlin Wang, Chih Min Su, Chun Chin Wen, Hsiang Jung Chin

Patent number: 6906927Abstract: A computer case having a pull bar structure for removing a front panel has a pull bar slidably mounted on the bottom wall of the case. The front wall of the case is provided with a front panel. To remove or to mount the front panel, only one side panel has to be taken off first. The pull bar is then pulled so as to decouple a bulged fixing dot on a pressing end thereof with a fixing hole on a fixing member of the front panel. A computer case having a pull bar structure therefore simplifies the process of removing the front panel and saves a significant amount of time.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 2003Date of Patent: June 14, 2005Assignee: Tatung Co., Ltd.Inventor: Chih-Min Su
