  • Patent number: 10355324
Abstract: A degassing method for a lithium battery cell includes the following steps: providing a lithium battery cell including a sealed bag, a degassing tube is arranged on the sealed bag and an end of the degassing tube is communicated with a space in the sealed bag, the sealed bag is filled with electrolyte solution and a remnant gas is contained therein; providing a negative pressure on an external surface of the sealed bag to inflate the sealed bag and therefore decompress the sealed bag to vaporize a part of the electrolyte solution, and the remnant gas is separated from the liquid electrolyte solution and mixed with the vaporized electrolyte solution to form a mixed gas; extracting the mixed gas via the degassing tube, therefore the vaporized electrolyte is pressurized to be liquefied in the degassing tube, and the remnant gas is discharged through the degassing tube.

  • Patent number: 10354356
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided that may be implemented to electronically link together and cool multiple graphics boards (also known as graphics cards) within an information handling system chassis, such as notebook computer chassis. The multiple graphics boards may be positioned at different levels relative to each other, and may be mounted separate from the main board (e.g., motherboard) in order to achieve a reduced total projective printed circuit board (PCB) area for the combination of the multiple graphics boards and main board. The multiple graphics boards may be stacked on opposite sides of the same thermal cooling module to allow a common thermal cooling module to simultaneously cool a GPU of each of the multiple linked graphics boards, as well as one or more other processors (e.g., central processing units and/or chipsets) mounted to the main board of the system.

  • Patent number: 8399117
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for placement of battery packs in portable information handling systems such as notebook and netbook computers. A first set of pivot features may be provided on opposing sidewalls of a battery well that interface with a corresponding set of mating pivot features provided on exterior end surfaces of a battery pack such that the battery pack may be pivoted into and out from the battery well to install or release it from the system, e.g., pivoted from the bottom of the portable information handling system in a manner that does not interfere with, or require modification to, the lid and display of the portable information handling system. A latch mechanism and battery release feature may be further provided that acts to transfer horizontal manipulation (e.g., horizontal sliding motion) of the battery release feature to a vertical latching action that acts to lift the battery pack out from the portable information handling system chassis when releasing the battery pack from the chassis.

  • Patent number: 8300406
Abstract: Support foot apparatus that include a support foot structure that employs flexible flap members disposed on opposing sides of a central foot member, and that are configured for insertion into corresponding openings of a support foot location defined in an exterior surface of the chassis of an information handling system or other device or structure. Each of the flexible flap members may be provided with one or more securing apertures configured for placement over corresponding securing posts provided on an interior surface of the chassis to secure the flexible flap members of the support foot apparatus within the interior of the chassis at a support foot location to hold the central support body against an exterior surface of the chassis.

  • Publication number: 20100323237
Abstract: An information handling system (IHS) includes an IHS chassis having a processor and defining a battery housing. An IHS connector is located adjacent the battery housing and is electrically coupled to the processor. A battery is located in the battery housing and includes a battery chassis that houses at least one battery cell. A battery connector is electrically coupled to the at least one battery cell and engages the IHS connector. The battery connector is moveably coupled to the battery chassis through a battery connector coupling that allows the battery connector to move relative to the battery chassis when the battery connector engages the IHS connector.
