  • Publication number: 20130286005
Abstract: The present invention provides a three-dimensional display device and drive method thereof. The three-dimensional display device comprises: a plurality of pixels arranged in matrix, gate driver and source driver; wherein the source driver supplies a constant drive voltage to keep the fourth sub-pixel area stay in dark state during the scanning. In this manner, the effect of the technique is equivalent to increasing the width of the black matrix without sacrificing the aperture ratio so as to improve the vertical view angle of the three-dimensional display device.

  • Publication number: 20130286305
Abstract: The present invention discloses a 3D display device and a phase retarder film thereof. The phase retarder film is used to be mounted on an outer surface of a polarizer and has a plurality of first phase retarder rows; and a plurality of second phase retarder rows being arranged alternately with the first phase retarder rows. Each two of the adjacent first phase retarder rows and second phase retarder rows have a non-retardation row disposed therebetween. The non-retardation row has an optical axis being perpendicular or parallel to a transmission axis of the polarizer. The non-retardation row can reduce the brightness at boundary regions between phase-retarding areas and further improve image-crosstalk when the phase retarder film is mounted with a positional error.

  • Publication number: 20130258465
Abstract: A three-dimensional image display apparatus is described. The three-dimensional image display apparatus includes a display panel and a film-type patterned retarder. The three-dimensional image display apparatus allows the phase retarding regions of the film-type patterned retarder to be deviated from the pixel regions of the display panel so that the line of vision the viewer along the extension of the phase retarding direction corresponds to the pixel regions of the display panel. In other words, the phase retarding regions of the film-type patterned retarder deviate from the pixel of the display panel to avoid the image crosstalk when the viewer looks on the three-dimensional image display apparatus.
