  • Publication number: 20020105684
Abstract: The contractible outer-shell apparatus of a scanning device comprises a first shell body and a second shell body. There is a first space in the interior of the first shell body, of which four side-surface constitute one trough opening, and of which one side is provided with a manuscript weight-bearing glass. There is a second space in the interior of the second shell body. The second shell body is incased into the trough opening of the first body, by a way of relative motion which will connect the interior spaces of both the first shell body and the second shell body to a containing space of one body. The second shell body can move upward and downward along the direction confined by the trough opening of the first shell body between a contraction position and a stretch position. In an idle state, the second shell body can be adjusted to a contraction position to reduce the total volume of the device to make it be put away, placed, conveyed easily and to reduce cost.

  • Publication number: 20020105685
Abstract: A kind of position set structure of scanner transmission components, wherein the holder is used to set the transmission components is molded at an adequate position of the case bottom. Besides, there are several position set axes molded on the holder and these axes have mushroom head and set seat used to locate the transmission components like gears easily and fast. Besides, on one side below the holder there is a open channel and S guard used to clip the flat cable. So, the structure originally needing several components is reduced to less components and the assembly time and difficulty is also reduced. In operation, it has easy structure, fast assembly and less cost function.

  • Publication number: 20020079638
Abstract: A paper separating device of the automatic document feeder can be assembled with a paper case loaded at least one piece of paper to provide the automatic paper separating and feeding function. The separating device includes: a paper feeding roller, which is located at one side of the paper case to carry its internal paper moving along the rolling tangent direction; a friction slice, which has one side near the paper feeding roller and locates the paper between the friction slice and the paper feeding roller; a first elastic component, which is combined at one bottom of the friction slice to provide the elastic force perpendicular to the tangent direction to force the friction slice approach the paper feeding roller; the characteristic is there is a second elastic component located at the other side of the friction slice to provide an elastic force opposite to the tangent to force the friction slice move toward the opposite tangent direction.

  • Publication number: 20020080613
Abstract: An Optic Reflection device, for application as Reflectors in the Light Track of optic installations, more specifically, as Reflector for single or multiple reflections in the scanner, apparatus of optics industry. Designed trapezoidal as opposed to rectangular or otherwise configuration pursuant to prior arts. In a preferred embodiment, the application is in the form of a reflector of single reflection to incident light beam; in another preferred embodiment, the application is in the form of reflector permissive of multiple reflections. Design pursuant to the trapezoidal optic reflector pertaining to the invention can substantially reduce space required of Light Track in an optic system, and therefore commensurably volume and weight claimed in the entire optic system, which facilitates compact design of the products and installation of other devices or utilities in the space so saved in the entire optic system.

  • Publication number: 20020018275
Abstract: A Focusing Mechanism and Method of Scanner. The scanner includes a case, a cover, a manuscript plate and an optical device. The optical device consists of a case, plural reflection mirrors, a lens and a charge couple device. The scanner uses the reflection mirror to receive the test image and to make image in the charge couple device through the lens focusing. During the process, it generates induced voltage. The characteristic is that the angle of the above reflection mirror is adjustable and it can change the induced voltage in the charge couple device according to the angle until the charge coupling component gets the best image definition. By the time, it finishes the focusing of the scanner.

  • Patent number: 6196855
Abstract: A guiding mechanism for guiding flat cable connected between two traveling modules of an image scanning device is disclosed. Two traveling modules are movable along two guide rods within the housing of the image scanning device by a predetermined speed ratio. A flat cable fixing holder is disposed on a lower portion of the first traveling module for locating one end of the flat cable under the first traveling module. A roller is disposed under the second traveling module, corresponding to the flat cable fixing holder of the first traveling module. The other end of the flat cable is extended from the fixing holder of the first traveling module and then wound over the roller and wound back toward the first traveling module and finally located on the base plate of the housing, so as to keep the flat cable in order.

  • Patent number: 6166844
Abstract: A transmission rope for driving movable mirror modules of an image scanning device is disclosed. One end of the transmission rope is located at a locating member. The other end of the transmission rope is first wound on a guide wheel of the second movable mirror module and then held by a rope holder of the first movable mirror module and then the transmission rope is sequentially traveled through several auxiliary guide wheels and a driving motor and then wound back onto the guide wheel of the second movable mirror module and finally fixed at a tension adjuster. The section of the transmission rope between the rope holder of the first movable mirror module and the guide wheel of the second movable mirror module and between the guide wheel of the second movable mirror module and the locating member has better tensile strength than that of the other section of the transmission rope so as to minimize the length deformation during driving the first and second movable mirror modules.
