  • Publication number: 20250208643
Abstract: An example non-transitory machine-readable medium includes instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to set a target frequency of a central processing unit (CPU), benchmark the CPU under a first load and a second load, wherein the first load is lighter than the second load, and determine a first operating frequency of the first load and second operating frequency of the second load. If the first operating frequency is lower than the target frequency by a margin and a CPU thermal condition had been met, then the first operating frequency and the second operating frequency are stored for continued operation of the CPU. Otherwise, the benchmark is repeated to redetermine the first operating frequency and the second operating frequency until the first operating frequency is lower than the target frequency by the margin and the CPU thermal condition is met.

  • Patent number: 11906580
Abstract: A system, a method, and a machine-readable medium for overclocking a computer system is provided. An example of a method for overclocking a computer system includes predicting a stable operating frequency for a central processing unit (CPU) in a target system based, at least in part, on a model generated from data collected for a test system. An operating frequency for the CPU is adjusted to the stable operating frequency. A benchmark test is run to confirm that the CPU is operating within limits.

Inventors: Suketu Partiwala, Hiren Bhatt, Dhruv Jain, Chihao Lo, Arnaud Froment
  • Patent number: 11379337
Abstract: A method of automatic overclocking of a silicon part or chip, such as a central processing unit (CPU) is disclosed. A range of clock frequencies of both the CPU and a cache of a computer system are tested, with parameters being monitored, safety limits of the computer system being ensured, and benchmark tests being run, before arriving at a CPU and cache frequencies based on a selected benchmark score.
