  • Patent number: 7142512
Abstract: According to the invention, techniques for controlling the quality of each communication service in a network automatically according to measured information of network traffic are provided. In a representative embodiment, a network measurement controlling system is provided according to the present invention, which comprises a control server, a router, and a meter connected to a network. The meter receives packets from a network and measures the number of packets, and the like, according to preset measurement rules, and transfers measured data to a control server. The control server holds control rules including its control policy for assuring the quality of each communication service, analyzes measured data transferred from the meter, and transmits control commands. The router controls the QoS automatically in real time according to the status of the network by receiving control commands and controlling communication service quality.

  • Patent number: 6693533
Abstract: In order to allow efficient use of bandwidth in communication paths in a surveillance system, the surveillance system has an operation unit which assigns fixed bandwidths to each of the communications taking place between camera nodes, which transfer image data at a uniform rate, and monitor nodes. A fixed bandwidth is assigned to, all communications taking place between the operation unit and sensor nodes, which generate alarm information at a non-uniform rate. If there is an increase in network traffic, bandwidth allocations, for communication between the camera nodes and the monitor nodes are reassigned so that bandwidth for these communications is reduced. The camera nodes use the bandwidth assigned to the camera nodes to transfer image data. The sensor nodes transfer alarm information using any bandwidth.

  • Patent number: 5999181
Abstract: In a network development support system, it is supported that logical hierarchic structure, physical parameters, and logical parameters of a network are integrally designed in an environment in which relationships therebetween can be confirmed. Definition of logical hierarchic structure of the network is accepted in the form of a tree of containers in a container tree window. Physical and logical parameters are accepted in physical and logical object windows, respectively. The physical and logical object windows are created in association with containers of the container trees.

  • Patent number: 5995096
Abstract: In a conferencing system comprising telephones and workstations to assist a cooperative work, a conference display control method for a visual user interface is provided. A conference window is displayed on a workstation display during execution of a teleconference. The conference window includes a meeting table area as a shared space and a local area which cannot be seen by the other participants. Document objects corresponding to a document application program which is used in the conference are arranged on those areas. The distribution of the documents, reference of information, and execution of the application program can be executed by direct manipulation of objects using a mouse. In the conference window, the document object can be operated at both the cooperative work place and the local work place. The operations during the conference can be simplified.

  • Patent number: 5748894
Abstract: A cooperative information processing system in which a cooperative execution application program can utilize an auxiliary application program that is being executed locally. The communication control program has the request conversion unit, the input conversion unit and the server-dependent information table. The communication control program utilizes the server-dependent information table to interpret the format of an inter-application message between the sites and carries out a proper conversion. Thus, communication between the cooperative execution application program and the auxiliary application program locally executed at a specific site, such as for example, the Japanese inputting front end program, is made possible.

  • Patent number: 5353398
Abstract: A group working system includes a plurality of work stations interconnected through a network and each having a multi-window function. Each work station is provided with a group working user interface program executed under the control of a control program for transferring control information for a group work with the other work stations. When input operation is performed for a window of a group working mode in any one of the work stations, indication information for identifying an operator or work station performing the input operation is output to an additional window which is paired with the above-mentioned window. By making reference to the indication information, each user can avoid conflict in the input operation to the same window of the group working mode with other users.
