    Abstract: A sliding mechanism for the sunroof of an automotive vehicle includes a support arm having an upper portion attached to the sunroof, a roof rail having a main portion extending horizontally and a front end portion curved downwardly, a guide member guided and supported by the roof rail and provided on the lower portion of the support arm, a link whose one end is connected to the guide member, and a drive cable for moving the other end of the link linearly back and forth.
