    Abstract: An LED regulation circuit and method include a voltage transformation unit to receive DC power and provide a constant current to drive at least one LED and a pulse-width modulation unit to generate a driving signal to control the voltage transformation unit. The driving signal of the pulse-width modulation unit has an operation period. In the operation period, the driving signal drives the voltage transformation unit to output regular operation power. The pulse-width modulation unit is connected to a timing regulation unit which generates a regulation signal sent to the pulse-width modulation unit to regulate the operation period of the driving signal by adding a sleep period. In the sleep period, the driving signal lowers the power of the voltage transformation unit that drives the LED. Through alternately controlling the operation period and sleep period of the driving signal, continuous heat generation and heat accumulation can be reduced.

The energy storage coil is coupled with at least one induction coil to induce and generate driving power to energize lighting equipment. The amount of the driving power is determined by the coil ratio of the induction coil and the energy storage coil. Through the induction coil, the energy storage coil can be induced to generate the driving power which is determined by the coil ratio of the induction coil and energy storage coil.

In the present invention, the start and end of the on time respectively have a gradually-ascending interval and a gradually-descending interval, and/or the start and end of the standby time respectively have a gradually-descending interval and a gradually-ascending interval. In the present invention, two or more different cycles are mixed to generate high-reliability and wide-dynamical range modulation modes, which can make an energy conversion unit and a rear-end LED group operate in reliable ranges of some performance characteristics.

According to a signal fed back by the light-emitting unit and a dimming signal, the first signal generator outputs first working signals via the signal synthesizer circuit of the first control unit to determine the turn-on time of the switch. According to the first working signals and via the signal synthesizer circuit of the second control unit, the second signal generator outputs second working signals to the switch to determine the resonance frequency of the transformer.

In the present invention, a power-variation detection unit is electrically coupled to the carbonized loop and detects the power-level variation caused by the carbonized loop and generates a power-variation signal; an interpretation unit receives the power-variation signal and utilizes a decision level to determine whether the power variation is caused by arc discharge and outputs an abnormal-power signal if the interpretation result is positive; and a trigger unit is driven by the abnormal-power signal to interrupt the inverter's outputting high-voltage power to the load.
