  • Patent number: 8525814
Abstract: The invention discloses a method of distinguishing multiple touch points applied to an optical touch system which includes a panel for indicating a first touch point and a second touch point thereon and a camera unit for capturing an image relative to the first touch point and the second touch point. The image has a first dark area and a second dark area corresponding to the first touch point and the second touch point respectively. In the method, if it is observed that the first dark area and the second dark area merge into a first single dark area and a second single dark area at current time and previous time respectively, the respective positions of the first dark area and the second dark area are determined and the respective coordinates of the first touch point and the second touch point are also determined.

  • Patent number: 8493362
Abstract: The invention provides an image-based coordinate input apparatus and method for detecting positions of N objects on a coordinate input region at a detecting interval where N equals to 1 or 2. According to the invention, starting at the start of the detecting interval, successive first images at a first view and successive second images at a second view relative to the N objects and a background of the perimeter of the coordinate input region are captured and buffered. The apparatus and method according to the invention judges the number of the N objects and calculates the positions of the N objects on the coordinate input region at the detecting interval in accordance with the buffered successive first images and the buffered successive second images.

  • Patent number: 6019108
Abstract: A hair holder includes a first body, a second body, and an elastic member. The first body includes a mounting seat formed on an end thereof and a first retaining groove defined in the end thereof. The mounting seat includes a protruded member on each of two opposite end faces thereof. The first body further includes two restraining blocks formed thereon. The second body includes two spaced engaging pieces formed on an end thereof and a second retaining groove defined in the end thereof. Each engaging piece includes a device for rotatably pivotally holding the protruded members of the mounting seat of the first body. The elastic member is mounted in the mounting seat of the first body and restrained by the restraining blocks. The elastic member has a first end retained in the first retaining groove and a second end retained in the second retaining groove.

  • Patent number: 5881741
Abstract: A method is provided for assembling a hair holder. Firstly, two bodies interconnected by a connecting plate are integrally formed, wherein each body includes two lugs with aligned holes and a plurality of bristle elements formed thereon, and wherein each of two ends of the connecting plate is connected to an associated body by a first bendable section. The connecting plate further includes a second bendable section formed on a mediate section thereof. Then, two legs of an elastic member are attached to two protrusions of the connecting plate to temporarily position the elastic member. Next, the bodies are bent along the first bendable sections to align the holes of the lugs with a coil portion of the elastic member. A pivotal pin is then extended through the aligned holes of the lugs and the coil portion of the elastic member. Next, the legs of the elastic member are disengaged from the protrusions.

  • Patent number: 5735296
Abstract: A hair holder includes a pair of bodies each including a mediate portion pivotally coupled together by a pivot shaft. Each body includes a number of teeth formed on a lower portion thereof. Each body further includes an extension plate extending from the mediate portion thereof, each extension plate including a notch defined in a mediate section thereof, thereby defining two spaced ears. A pin is fixedly mounted between the ears. A spring is provided for biasing the extension plates away from each other and for biasing the teeth toward each other. A cover plate is removably attached to the bodies. The cover plate includes a flexible mediate section having a gap defined in an underside thereof, thereby allowing the cover plate to be bendable along the flexible mediate section.

  • Patent number: 5642740
Abstract: A hair holder includes a pair of members having a middle portion pivotally coupled together and having a number of teeth formed in the lower portion and each having a handle formed in the upper portion. A spring may bias the handles away from each other so as to bias the teeth toward each other. A pair of panels are pivotally coupled together and each has one edge pivotally coupled to the handles so as to allow the panels to rotate relative to the handles. The panels may shield the pivot shaft and the spring so as to prevent the hair from being clamped by the spring.

  • Patent number: 5025165
Abstract: Conventional alignment procedures in electron beam (e-beam) direct write systems typically use an e-beam exposure tool as a scanning electron microscope (SEM) to imagine wafer alignment marks. However, electrical charging of the wafer surface by the electron beam can typically result in image distortions which generally can lead to alignment inaccuracies. The inventive method and apparatus advantageously overcome the alignment inaccuracies associated with the charging effects, by optically aligning the wafer to a reference axis of the electron beam. In a preferred embodiment of this invention, light is focused on a diffraction grating on the wafer, used as an alignment mark, and the diffracted light is spatially filtered and detected. Spatially filtering the diffracted light, eliminating the 0th order of the diffracted light, provides increased depth of focus.
