  • Patent number: 7564595
Abstract: A lens module with adjustable magnification is installed in a scanner. The lens module can be used to collect and focus a scanning light beam to form an image onto at least one optical sensing device, which may be replaceable. The lens module includes a primary lens and at least one correction lens. The correction lens is with respect to the size of the optical sensing device, such as the total length of the effective pixels, and is installed at a location in front of the light collection end or between the image output end and the optical sensing device. This allows the size of the image focused by lens module to match with the size of the optical sensing device, so that the image can be captured by the optical sensing device.

  • Patent number: 7529002
Abstract: An optical path device composed of four pieces of reflected mirrors is disclosed. In the optical path device, after being reflected many times between a set of two parallel mirrors, an incident light not perpendicular to the surface of the original document is turned by an optical path turning mirror to enter the parallel mirrors set again and reflected many times, and then the incident light is reflected into a lens and is imaged on a charge coupled device (CCD). The optical path device can limit the optical path between the parallel mirrors set effectively, thereby decreasing the volume of a chassis.

  • Publication number: 20040105130
Abstract: A scan device and a method for enhancing the life of the same are provided. The scan device comprises a scan chassis, a random selecting device, a brightness judging device and a chart. There are many lamps in the scan chassis, and each one of the lamps can provide a light with a predetermined brightness to the document. The random selecting device, which can randomly choose to turn on one of the lamps, is electrically connected to the scan chassis. The brightness judging device is electrically connected to the scan chassis. The chart is disposed above the scan chassis. By turning on one of the lamps randomly, the life of the scan device is enhanced. After a lamp fails, some or all of the other lamps are turned on so as to obtain a light with enough brightness and to further enhance the life of the scan device.
