  • Patent number: 8019200
Abstract: There is provided a method for automatically converting a media file for playback on a portable media player. The method includes specifying the type of the portable media player. If a stream of the media file is not capable of being played back by the portable media player, the stream is discarded. If a stream of the media file is capable of being played back and is supported by the portable media player, the stream is then directly copied to the player. Where a stream of the media file is capable of being played back and is not supported by the portable media player, the stream is then converted using a predetermined codec that is supported by the portable media player, the predetermined codec selected on a basis of playback quality, output file size and file conversion time. A corresponding system and software is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20100289215
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to an improved and enhanced means enabling formation of illustrations wherein the overall illustration formed may comprise differing desired heights to show depth or three dimensional effect of illustrations formed by employing a plurality of stacker units in combination with puzzle units to enhance the height desired, said stacker unit comprising a holed head configured to have a central inwardly burrow and a leg for lodgment onto a substrate member having a plurality of holes of compatible dimension for complementary and snug abutment leaving the holed head of the stacker unit above the substrate member [now acting as an elevated substrate member] for accommodating the leg of a puzzle unit thus enhancing the height of the puzzle unit.

  • Patent number: 7588220
Abstract: For stabilizing a stand to mount a display, the stand includes a base support member having a center portion with a circular recess formed about an axis perpendicular to the base support member. A swivel member removably coupled to the center portion is rotatably movable about the axis and within the circular recess. A linking member removably coupled to the center portion is frictionally coupled to the swivel member. The linking member is rotatably movable in response to a rotational motion of the swivel member. An extensible member removably coupled to the center portion is frictionally coupled to the linking member. The rotational motion of the swivel member is transferred by the linking member to cause a linear motion of the extensible member. The linear motion of the extensible member increases a virtual base boundary formed by the extensible member and the base support member thereby improving the stability of the stand.

  • Patent number: 7499694
Abstract: In a method of tuning a receiver for a digital signal (MPEG2-TS), an input signal (RF-in) is filtered (In-filt, Band-filt) to obtain a processed signal, a digital figure of merit (BER) is determined (Mix/Osc/IF amp IF-downconv-2, C) from the processed signal, and the filtering step (In-filt, Band-filt) is fine-adjusted (?P, PLL, DAC1-DAC3) in dependence on the digital figure of merit (BER).

  • Patent number: 7301584
Abstract: In a local oscillator for a tuning arrangement for both TV and FM signals there is substantial risk of parasitic oscillation. A special provision is disclosed for effectively reducing this risk. The special provision is a connection of a damping resistor (R1a) for suppressing parsitic oscillations between ground and a junction (J2) of a parallel LC resonator of the local oscillator.

  • Patent number: 7002638
Abstract: In a method of automatic gain control for both TV and FM radio signals, the TV and FM radio signals are controllably amplified (AGC-AMP) to obtain amplifier output signals, the amplifier output signals are tuner processed (F, MIX, IF-AMP) to obtain tuner output signals, the tuner output signals are applied as control signals (T-AGC) to the controllable amplifier (AGC-AMP), a bandwidth of a thus formed AGC loop being wide enough for a TV channel, and the tuner output signals are narrow-band filtered (CF) to obtain narrow-band filtered signals having a bandwidth substantially corresponding to a bandwidth of an FM radio channel.
