  • Patent number: 6439916
Abstract: An electrical adapter (1) comprises an insulative housing (10) having opposite first and second poles (14, 16), a first electrical connector (20) and a second electrical connector (30) fastened at the first and second poles, respectively. The second pole defines a slot (11) opened in a top face (162) and an inside face (164) thereof and a through hole (13) below and communicating with the slot. A screw member (40) is inserted into the slot from above of the second pole. Then, the screw member is pushed toward the first pole to lie down between the first and second poles. Finally, the screw member is pushed forward so that it extends beyond the second pole.

  • Patent number: 6371804
Abstract: An electrical connector assembly comprises a connector and a dielectric housing. The connector includes a case from which a first wing and a second wing. Each wing defines a through hole and an extending plane which is inclined relative to a bottom surface of the case. The housing on which the connector is mounted has an inclined base defining an opening and a first sleeve and a second sleeve. A top surface of each sleeve defines a mating surface, the two surfaces being parallel to one another and inclined relative to the base. After the plug of the connector is inserted through the opening of the housing, the mating surfaces mate with the extending planes of the corresponding wing and both the through holes and corresponding threaded recesses of the sleeves which are aligned in a vertical direction thereby facilitating an insertion of bolts to secure the connector to the housing.

  • Patent number: 6343957
Abstract: A DVI electrical adapter (2) for electrically connecting a monitor to a host computer having different interfaces includes a combined digital & analog receptacle connector (21), a digital-only plug connector (22), two printed circuit boards (PCBs) (23) joined between the plug connector and the receptacle connector, an insulative housing (20) insert molded over a center of the DVI adapter and a pair of elongated fasteners (24). The elongated fasteners project through two sides of the insulative housing and include a first fixing end (241) and a second fixing end (243). The second fixing end engages with nuts of a complementary receptacle connector mounted on the host computer. The first fixing end has a threaded recess accepting screws from a cable plug connector attached to the monitor. The DVI electrical adapter has a smaller size and simpler structure, and is simpler to use than prior art DVI connector.

  • Patent number: 6296516
Abstract: A cable connector of the present invention comprises a rectangular dielectric housing (11), an angled cable (30) and a fastening member (20). A pair of mounting wings (12) is integrally extended from opposite side walls (113) of the housing. A receiving channel (115) is longitudinally defined in the housing for receiving the cable. A pair of slots (116) is defined in the housing beside the receiving channel, and a recessed section (117) laterally extends from an end of the each slot. The fastening member includes a pair of side beams (21) received in the slots of the housing and an intermediate beam (22) between the side beams for pressing against the cable. Each side beams has a distal end (212) pointing away from the intermediate beam for latching within the corresponding recessed sections of the housing.

  • Patent number: 6257921
Abstract: A cable connector comprises an electrical connector part, a cable and a fixing member. The electrical connector comprises an over-mold, a shell extending from and out of the over-mold and a plug extending out of the shell. The fixing member defines an aperture therethrough for receiving a signal cable and forms a locking protrusion on a face thereof below the aperture. The over-mold has a top wall, a front wall and two sidewalls. A receiving channel defined in the top wall extending from a middle of the top wall to the front wall for receiving the cable. A recess is defined on a front wall below the receiving channel for receiving the locking protrusion of the fixing member. During assembly, the aperture of the fixing member receives the cable and the fixing member slides along the cable towards the over-mold. The locking protrusion are received in the recess of the over-mold thus anchoring an angled cable in the connector.
