  • Publication number: 20080030737
Abstract: A fiber optic multiple-pass surface plasmon resonance technique provides an increase in the number of passes to any arbitrary number is described. Multiple reflections off a reflective sample surface are achieved in one embodiment using a fiber optic collimator, a reflector, and a second reflector, such as a corner cube prism. An electric field assist may be provided by migrating charged molecules to be detected toward the reflective sample surface. In further embodiments, the filed assist may be used with a single pass surface plasmon resonance technique. In still further embodiments, an electo-optic modulated recirculation loop may be used to increase the number of reflections off the sample surface.

  • Publication number: 20070190806
Abstract: A method for fabricating a semiconductor device includes providing a semiconductor substrate comprising a patterned metal conductor layer. To provide UV blocking, an overlying separation layer is formed over the substrate, and a UV blocking layer of silicon enriched oxide is formed over the separation layer. The UV blocking layer has a silicon atomic concentration sufficient for ultraviolet blocking. A gap-filling, hydrogen-blocking layer may be formed over the semiconductor substrate, and any the UV blocking layer, to prevent hydrogen from passing therethrough.

  • Publication number: 20070091597
Abstract: The invention is a high power LED color bulb which has infrared remote function. The invention includes a reflector, a LED module which has inner LED chips, and a bulb cover which has inner controller to control a circuit board. The LED module is set behind the reflector, and LED chips are inside of the reflector, the bulb cover is behind the reflector, and LED module is connected to the controlling circuit board. Moreover, a light guide hole or light guide bar is attached from foresight of reflector and extend to the back of reflector to correspond with infrared sensor which controls circuit board. This is the structure of high power LED color bulb which has infrared remote function. With this invention, infrared sensor does not have to be set in front of reflector and still can receive infrared signal through light guide hole or light guide bar to control different functions, such as turn on/off, choosing colors, changing modes and adjusting illumination.

  • Patent number: 5164954
Abstract: A traveling-wave ring-laser (10) to provide improved power stability single longitudinal mode characteristics, narrow lasing linewidth and smooth wavelength tuning. The ring-laser comprises an optical amplifier (12) that includes a first facet (16) and a second facet (42). Optical amplifier (12) generates laser light from first facet (16) ring-laser (10) directs a portion of the laser light from first facet (16) back into second facet (42). An Faraday rotator (32) and half-wave plate (30) direct a portion of laser light that second facet (42) receives to travel in one direction only from first facet (16) to second facet (42). By feeding back input from optical amplifier (12) first facet 16 into second facet 42, lasing occurs. Causing laser light from first facet (16) to travel in one direction provides for smooth wavelength tuning and stable power performance single longitudinal mode and narrow-linewidth characteristics in laser system (10).
