  • Publication number: 20210055827
Abstract: A user verification method for a mobile device having an edge sensor and a mobile device implementing the method are provided. The method includes detecting, by the edge sensor, a squeezing action performed on the mobile device in response to determining that a specific event occurs, and performing a verification procedure according to the squeezing action to obtain a user verification result; in response to the user verification result being successful, performing a first operation; in response to the user verification result being failed, performing a second operation. Furthermore, the verification procedure includes retrieving verification data corresponding to the specific event from a database; and determining whether the user verification result is successful or failed by comparing the verification data with a pattern of the squeezing action.

  • Patent number: 10320577
Abstract: In one example, a method for inhibiting input at a remotely-booted computer. A wake-on-LAN signal is received at the computer from a network while the computer is in a low-power state. A boot function of the computer sets an indicator indicative of a wake-on-LAN condition, the indicator accessible by an operating system of the computer. The operating system is loaded, including a filter driver for an input device of the computer. The filter driver is to intercept input from the device to a function driver for the device. When the indicator is set, input received from the input device is disregarded.

  • Patent number: 10204504
Abstract: An electronic device including a signal processing circuit, an acceleration sensor, and an edge sensor is provided. The electronic device has a device body. The signal processing circuit operates in a sleep mode. The acceleration sensor senses an acceleration variation of the device body to generate an acceleration sensing signal. The acceleration sensor determines whether the acceleration sensing signal is continuously lower than an acceleration threshold for a preset length of time to wake up the signal processing circuit. When the acceleration sensor wakes up the signal processing circuit, the signal processor enables the edge sensor. The edge sensor senses a deformation variation of the device body to generate at least one deformation sensing signal. The signal processing circuit analyzes the deformation sensing signal to determine whether a drop event of the device body occurs. In addition, a drop warning method is also provided.

Abstract: An electronic apparatus and method for determining a reset thereof are provided. The electronic apparatus includes a switch, a sensor, a reset circuitry and a control circuitry. The switch generates a trigger signal as being triggered. The sensor senses a property of an object or an environment external to the electronic apparatus and to provide a sensing information based on the sensed property. The reset circuitry is coupled to the switch and counts from an initial value to a predetermined value when keep receiving the trigger signal from the switch, wherein the reset circuitry further resets the electronic apparatus when counting to the predetermined value. The control circuitry is coupled to the switch, the sensor and the reset circuit and generates a control signal, based on the sensing information, for controlling the reset circuit to re-count from the initial value to the predetermined value.
