  • Publication number: 20050270597
Abstract: An image processing system of a scanner including an optical sensing unit, several analog signal processing units, a control processing unit, a memory unit and an image registration unit. The optical sensing unit captures an image of document, and several analog monochromatic image signals are generated and transmitted accordingly. The analog signal processing units correspondingly receives the analog monochromatic image signals and several digital monochromatic image signals are generated and transmitted accordingly. The control processing unit processes the digital monochromatic image signal and several processed monochromatic image data are generated and transmitted accordingly. The memory unit receives and stores the processed monochromatic image data. The image registration unit retrieves the processed monochromatic image data stored in the memory unit and a color image is produced accordingly.

  • Publication number: 20050046913
Abstract: The scanning apparatus includes a movable chassis and a main board fixed on the body. A charge couple device module and a front end processing device are disposed on the chassis. An application specific integrated circuit is positioned on the main board. After the charge couple device module detects a light analog signal, the application specific integrated circuit communicates with the front end processing device through a command interface. Therefore, the light analog signal is converted into the light digital signal by the front end processing device, and then the light digital signal encoded into low voltage differential signaling form is transmitted to the application specific integrated circuit for proceeding the subsequent image processing.

  • Publication number: 20040099789
Abstract: An image sensor module includes a body, an image sensor and a lens array. The image sensor is arranged within the body and includes a plurality of photosensitive units and a transparent layer for covering the photosensitive units. The transparent layer has an upper surface away from the photosensitive units. The lens array is arranged on the image sensor and in close contact with the upper surface of the transparent layer for receiving a plurality of image signals and focusing the image signals on the photosensitive units. The lens array has a depth of focus equal to a distance between the upper surface of the transparent layer and the photosensitive units.

  • Patent number: 6734997
Abstract: A method for detecting defects on a transparent film in a scanner is disclosed. The scanner has a light source for exposing the transparent film. The method includes using the light source to expose the transparent film for a first predetermined time to generate a first image, using the light source to expose the transparent film for a second predetermined time to generate a second image, and comparing differences between the first image and the second image according to a time ratio of the first predetermined time and the second predetermined time so as to detect the defects on the transparent film.

  • Patent number: 6724505
Abstract: An image scanning method used in a scanner. The scanner includes a housing, a transparent platform set on the housing for a document to be placed on, a scanning module installed inside the housing for scanning the document, and a step motor for driving the scanning module step by step so as to scan the document. After completing a first scanning pass, the scanning module moves a predetermined distance, which corresponds to non-integer steps of the step motor so that when the scanning module performs a second scanning pass, sampling positions of the second scanning pass are different from sampling positions of the first scanning pass.
